First visit to VenicePosted Apr 19, 2014
Pros: It's location.
Cons: The staff were not overly friendly.
Location: Ideal location on grand canal and short walk to st marks square.
This hotel was ideally situated on the Grand Canal and just a short walk to St Marks Square. However we did find the staff rather aloof. Our room was clean but did not have the view we had requested upon booking and we could not be moved unless we paid an extra amount per night!

Perfect location, fantastically helpful staffPosted Apr 15, 2014
Pros: Location and staff
Cons: Breakfast is good but too expensive for the quality
Location: At the entrance to the Grand Canal just metres from San Marco Square within easy walking distance of most major sites.
It was a special anniversary trip and the hotel and staff added a little extra magic. We did not expect it to be cheap - but we certainly got value for money.

long week end in venice.Posted Apr 14, 2014
Pros: size of room and balcony, location
Cons: signage and speed of food service
Location: grat location for gondoliers, piazza san marco with the doges place and the basilica, also close to designer shops and easy walk to the rialto bridge
the hotel was difficult to find - no signage outside, but once inside was very good. we were upgraded to a very large room with opulent bathroom. breakfast was expensive and the service a bit slow but they do excellent scrambled eggs and have a lovely waterfront terrace to eat it on. the hotel is close to san marco piazza and the boat stop to return to the airport. a good choice

Did not meet my expectationsPosted Apr 12, 2014
Pros: Lobby and location.
Cons: Not to charge for a roll-away bed or the pull out sofa bed.
Location: San Marco square.
Perhaps we were spoiled from the excellent Westin in Rome. We requested a roll-away bed for our daughter and they were going to charge us 125 Euros/night. We requested that they remove the roll-away. Next, we discovered that the sofa had a hide-away bed. We soon discovered that this pull out bed was broken. Again, we were advised that they would come and repair and provide sheets for 125 Euros/night. We then asked how much they would charge us to sit on the sofa and the hotel staff indicated that this was free. Yes, the location was great and the lobby was fabulous; however, the rooms and bath left a lot to be desired for the price per night. I would advise to shop around for better value hotels around San Marco square instead of this Westin.

Great position. Elegant surroundings.Posted Apr 10, 2014
Pros: Luxurious surroundings. Roomy bedroom and huge bed.
Cons: Prices at the bar and for breakfast very expensive. Some dust in bathroom and some on table lamp in the bar which you would not expect in a 5 star.
Location: Ideal for St.Marks's Square, shopping, gondola ride and water buses.
Hotel is immaculately presented when entering from the canal or main entrance. Grand Deluxe room extremely comfortable. Unfortunately, we had to wait over an hour after our check in time as room was not ready, but were not offered a complimentary drink. In fact, we went to the bar and had to pay over 20 Euros for a bottle of beer and a coffee! Extortionate! Hotel is in ideal situation for St. Mark's Square, has lovely views out into the lagoon and Grand Canal and is surrounded by designer shops.

Very expensive !Posted Apr 7, 2014
Pros: Fantastic position right on the Grand Canal opposite The Santa Maria salute church.
Cons: Recognition of repeat customers Some form of incentive to keep customers in house. A fixed price menu of the day.A pricing policy to include breakfas
Location: Excellent location
The tiepolo bar must be one of the most expensive in the world An Italian bottle of lager is 13 euros! a bottle of ordinary Chardonnay 80 euros! No wonder the bar and restaurant were always empty. This was our third visit to this hotel and to our observation the prices have doubled in six years .
