Hotel before Cruise

The Holiday Inn Express Doral was recommended to me by a Cruise Consultant. It was a good recommendation! While it isn’t located in a real convenient neighborhood without a car, it was a great hotel. We had a very nice stay, the breakfast was nice, the shuttle from the airport was timely, and the shuttle to the port was timely as well. It was a very good experience for us.

Good hotel

Very nice hotel, especially for business trips. I have stayed at the hotel twice now and I am satisfied. The hotel is close to the airport, it is close to some business centers. Service at the hotel is fine too.

Crusie trip 2010

Excellent service from the moment we arrived. They did request my Credit Card for incidentals such as phone, movies and drinks, I refused. Told them I had a cell phone and that we would not be buying movies or Coke products. We are Pepsi fans. The breakfast in the morning was very done and more than enough to satisfy my wife and I. The standard fare of donuts, danish cereal and also small omelets and bacon w/toast, bagels and coffee, juice. Overall an excellent place for a quick overnight stay prior to our cruise.

never again

Expedia arranged our flights and hotels. All of them had problems getting to and from the hotels and to the cruise docks. We had to pay additional fees for a taxi and all cases. The hotels were not that clean, towels left from previous guests were under the bench and the carpets look like they were not cleaned in a few weeks. Asked if they would give us a lift to a resturant not in walking distance, it would be a fee also. The hotel was so far from any activity, we could not get to museums or any attractions unless we paid a taxi. It was a poor experience.

I will go back again and again

Holiday Inn Doral - Worst hotel

This is the worst Holiday Inn I’ve ever stayed in, with extremely poor rooms and service. While I had requested a non-smoking room, I was given a room that stinked of cigarrete smoke. When I complained, the receptionist mentioned that they were in the process of converting all smoking rooms to non-smoking and hence the smell, with no offer to change rooms. When I requested for a air freshener, they promised to, but this never came as well.

Nice room on a budget

The room was nicely appointed and clean. Free parking and internet no surprises. The staff were about typical for Miami... disinterested and robotic. The highway is relatively close by so you do not need to spend much time in the ugly, airport dominated neighborhood. This hotel is what it is... a clean and comfortable room for a Miami budget price.

Somewhat convenient

The hotel is somewhat convenient to the airport. The shuttle only runs every 30 minutes. We requested a non-smoking room. The room we stayed in the first night had obviously been smoking in. We requested a new room, but none were available. The second night they upgraded us to a non-smoking suite.

Great Value

We stayed at this hotel whilst on a 3 day stop-over in Miami and I would stay here again and have recommended to all my friends. The hotel is in a convenient location, close to shops, restaurants, airport. There is free parking with security and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Horrible!

I stayed at this hotel with my family for a quick layover prior to a cruise. I’ll never stay there again. We waited over an hour for their "free shuttle" from the airport, and then when we arrived, they did not have the type of room available that we reserved. We needed two queen beds for four of us, they only had a room with one king bed and a pull out sofabed. When we pulled out the sofabed, there were old dirty towels and washclothes mixed in with the dirty bedding! They couldn’t provide us a different room and there was no housekeeping on duty to change the bedding! By that time it was close to midnight so I had my family sleep in the bed while I folded up the sofa (a small loveseat really) and slept there. Stay here at your own risk!

Excellent customer service

The hotel was clean, quiet and had a free transfer to and from the airport. In fact, I forgot to compensate for the time zone difference between Kansas City and Miami and overslept. I would have missed my flight but they shuttled me to the airport ASAP. Excellent customer service.

the right choice

Attended a conference at the Doral Resort and stayed at Holiday Inn Express, which was within walking distance. Room was very clean, bed comfortable, personnel very pleasant, convenient free shuttle to/from airport, free and good breakfast. Only downside was very limited choice of places to eat for lunch/dinner.

Good value for money

This hotel suits well for somebody who comes to visit Miami City and who is on the way or coming back from Everglades or Key West. It takes some 25 minutes by car to get to the Miami’s Suoth Beach from the hotel. The only downside about this hotel (and this is the downside of 90% of hotels) was a noisy air conditioning system. It would not affect your sleep once you get use to it. Security seems to be quite good around the hotel because I saw a security man constantly patrolling around the hotel and in the hotel car park. ecurity is definitely a major plus. Breakfast was basic but good apart from taste of coffee. Reception personnel was very quick and helpful. This hotel is also only 5 minute drive away from 2 huge shopping malls! In summary, I would stay in this hotel again when I return to Miami.

The hotel staff was not friendly or helpful. I didn’t feel safe leaving the hotel either.

Recommend highly

We were very pleased with the hotel. We had just returned from a cruise and spent the night in Miami before flying home. We enjoyed relaxing by the pool. There were several restaurants within a few blocks that were within easy walking distance and the area seemed to be safe. The hotel was clean and everyone we came into contact with was helpful and cheerful. The girl that picked us up at the airport after our cruise was very friendly. The next morning we had no problem getting the shuttle to take us back to the airport with plenty of time to spare. We would recommend this hotel.

Pretty Good

We enjoyed our stay. Staff was nice and rooms were cleaned and nicely decorated. Breakfast was included which it is a great option when you have a flight to catch.

Over all I was pleased

There was a little trouble finding our reservation and when we got to the room the carpet was wet. The front desk quickly solved the problem be putting us into a very nice suite eventhough we had only paid for a standard room. I wish there were safes in the room, but we had no problems. The breakfast bar was good and the hotel got us to the airport in plenty of time. I would go back.

There were some very interesting places to eat in a business center about a 15 min. walk. It’s a busy area, but we felt safe.

Beautiful hotel

It was a beautiful hotel inside and out. Extremely convenient to stay from the airport because there was a free shuttle. I wouldn’t recommend taking a shuttle provided from them to go to the port because it is a flat rate for taxis from the airport (that is much cheaper). Overall the hotel was perfect and clean. If you are looking to do something in walking distance from it, there is really nothing. It is in a pretty corporate area. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to anyone.
