“Le restaurant est très bruyant”

“Bonjours réception accueillante oreiller a revoir car pas correct ses a dire pas epais, petit déjeuner laisse pas trop de choix et pas de produit artisanale pour les viennoiserie .”

“Convenient stopover stay travelling down to Southern Europe. Friendly staff and v reasonable price. Restaurants nearby and Laon old town is worth looking around although up 200+ steps.”

“Location and parking was good. Receptionist was grumpy. Room has see better days. The window could not be locked, there was no air conditioning and room needed redecorating. No English speaking channel on TV. Breakfast from 7 am. No cooked breakfast eg scrambled eggs,bacon. Bar was at property but not serving drinks. I requested ice cubes for water drinks but not available. At best it was basic.”

“Excellent location with outlook overlooking the cathedral & square. Excellent dinner in the restaurant, recommend to book as it gets busy at the weekend. Limited option of secure hotel parking available but lots of free parking available around the city. Clean & spacious room with some traditional features, and despite no air conditioning in room, staff made every effort to cool room with fans during heatwave. All staff really helpful & friendly. Would highly recommend this hotel if looking to……

“Very welcoming and set in the historic center -or very close. Large, comfortable room, multi-lingual receptionist and excellent breakfast, much of which is home made/home grown, including the jams. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed on this particular evening, but if breakfast was anything to go by I expect a dinner there would be equally delicious. (There were other restaurants in easy walking distance.) I look forward to staying there again.”

“The room were clean but the bedding felt a little dirty. It was very noisy and we had to ask the neighbors to stay quiet past 11pm. The car park had a random van with black curtains parked in the corner of the car park. The beds were not as comfortable. ”

“No lift, need to move luggage by yourself. Room is small .only 2 towel and shower gel available. ”

“Le propriétaire m'a dit qu'il ne travaillait plus avec expedia alors que j'avais une réservation avec expedia et donc il ne m'avait pas réservé de chambre. Par conséquent il m'a logé dans une chambre de dépannage sans aucun confort (juste un matelas sur le sol). Chambre située sous le toit alors qu'il faisait extrêmement chaud (période de canicule) et chambre qui n'était pas équipée de clim ou de ventilateur. J'ai passé une nuit exécrable.”

“The hotel lived up to its name with a fantastic welcome from the receptionist when we arrived. The whole check-in experience was probably the best I have had in over 600 hotel stays. The room was exactly as described. This is not trying to be a luxury hotel but it is great value. There were so many "individual" touches in the hotel that made you think "this is different" - in a nice way ! I would definitely recommend.”

“Au Clos du Lac was one of the best B&Bs we’ve ever stayed at. Beautiful spacious room, stunning gardens and lovely pool/spa area. Anaïs was very welcoming and friendly and breakfast was plentiful and delicious. A real luxury treat in a beautiful village not far from Reims and the champagne region. We’ll be back!”
