You'll be spoiled for sightseeing choice when in Ueda. Chuzen-ji Temple is a great place to start here, but there are plenty of other worthy spots to explore. Ueda Castle, Mugonkan, and Kitamuki-Kannon Temple are close to the place of worship and and will cap off your day nicely.
