We stayed in the ski resort's off-season (July). For two nights, we paid $425 (or $213 a night for a king-sized bed)—the rate for a luxury hotel. The Lodge has easy access to the limited amenities of the small town of Angel Fire, staff is friendly, and the property is decently maintained. However, The Lodge advertises several on-site restaurants, cafes, and bars ... and a few were closed entirely, and none was open past 4pm. The Front Desk also advised us that housekeepers visited daily, but they didn't ("too much turnover," they said, so our room was not serviced during our weekend stay). The king bed in our room was lumpy and uncomfortably soft; a connection for the room's TV blinked brightly and constantly through the night (requiring us to cover it both nights with a folded towel), and the sliding plastic drape to the balcony simply fell of its track at one point. In all, not an unexpected experience for a $60-a-night chain motel, but a frustrating experience for an expensive luxury hotel. A final note: When I reserved the room through Expedia, I was offered an email connection to The Lodge through Expedia's network. I submitted a couple questions that were never answered. So that practice isn't 100% reliable.

Great Place to stay. We will be back

Everything was fine in general except for the Plumbing. The cold water came out of the pipes scalding hot. We would have to run the cold water faucet for about 10 minutes at the sink or bathtub before the water would run cold. When we sat on the toilet, we would get a hot water steam bath when the toilet was flushed. The property definitely has plumbing problems.

The people in the front desk were really nice, friendly and helpful. The rooms were amazing, spacious and clean. We will definitely come back!

The cabin was beautiful inside. It was very clean and had all the comforts of home. Just a short walk from our cabin was an awesome fire pit with free s’mores and corn hole boards. We would definitely stay here again.
