Weekend in Eau Claire
This cabin was perfect. All the updates and furnishings were amazing! The cabin felt very cozy and the living spaces also felt open & spacious. The property was beautiful with the stream and mature trees. We visited Eau Claire, hiked at a nearby nature conservancy along the Chippewa River and relaxed at the cabin (we did not want to leave). We hope to return soon! This is really a special place!

Relaxing Stay
Thank you for the opportunity to enjoy your beautiful cabin. It was so peaceful with such a warm welcome including the fireplaces going and the lamps lit upon our arrival. We are amazed by the improvements made in 1 year as shown in your photo book. We have stayed at some VRBOs that have a code to get into the place which we liked. We thought we locked the cabin when we stepped out on Friday from 12:30-3:30. When we returned, the door was opened with 2 inches of space which felt a bit uncomfortable to us. Fortunately all of our belongings were still there as it seemed to be a very safe area.

Beautiful falling leaves and cabin!
The renovation and love poured into this log cabin definitely honors those who originally erected it many years ago. Stunning and cozy place to curl up and watch the birds, soak up the landscape and a great location to venture from to explore the beautiful Wisconsin countryside.

Great Place!
We had a great stay here! The place had everything we needed. Clean and nicely decorated just as the pictures show - nothing out of place when you arrive. It's also a very private property and good for hanging out by the fire. Communication w/ the host was excellent. You won't regret booking this property!

Nice cabin. Nice yard. Steep to get down to water. No fish. Inside cabin tidy but could use a good décor cleaning. Food storage on top of garage bin unsanitary. Condiments and spices old and outdated. Broken can opener. Air conditioning in bathroom and bedroom can’t cool entire cabin. No contact from renter when we left to check in on our stay and felt not hospitable. Definitely no special touches like fresh flowers or a couple beers on counter with a welcome note . It was ok. Not bad just ok.

All reviews before mine are spot on accurate. What a magical, beautiful, and serene place. Loved every minute of being there. The property was so clean, you couldn't find a piece of garbage on the grounds. We will definitely be back, maybe in winter because I'm sure it's just as beautiful if not more beautiful.

The property is an authentic log cabin with all the modern conveniences. The beds were very comfortable, and the cabin was nicely decorated. We would definitely do it again!

Beautiful setting
This old log cabin has been restored with love and it is obvious the minute you arrive. All the bird sounds and the creek running through the property are awesome. Come here, you will not be disappointed.

We had a lovely time, beautiful cabin, comfy bed, amazing scenery! We had a bonfire down by the river and one by the cabin, lots of birds, we were able to fill feeder with seed provided and it was gone by the time we left! We definitely will be back! Thanks Jolene!!

Perfect for a group of friends
Jolene was very communicative and welcoming for our little group of 4, which was visiting for a conference in Eau Claire. The cabin was very clean and had a warm vibe to it—it’s location on the water was an especially nice and peaceful touch.

Hidden gem in the woods
The excitement for our time at the cabin held every day of our stay. Everything is beautiful and exceeded our expectations. We love this small piece of paradise. Jolene and Mick are amazing hosts. We will be back.

Gorgeous Little Getaway
Our family was super impressed and absolutely loved it. It is so quaint, relaxing, gorgeous outside views no matter what direction you look. The pictures online cannot mimic the actual beauty of this log cabin. Want to come back for each season. Don’t debate it., do it. You will not be disappointed!!!!

Lil Kickback
This place is just as it appears, and so much more! A perfect place to relax and unwind for us. Very quiet and peaceful. The cabin was so homey and had everything we needed. Jolene was easy to connect with and had the cabin already for us when we got there. I would gladly recommend Lil Kickback!

Perfect Beyond Expectations
We felt like we were in a Hallmark movie because this cabin is right out of the perfect cozy scene we all imagine. It was below zero outside but warm and toasty inside with both the gas and wood fire place going. Background music, game playing while delicious meals are prepared and served on the porch overlooking the river. Comfort plus beds and couches with perfect ambiance added to the gentle snow falling outside. Could not have asked for better family memories enhanced by every need met from attentive mangers. A definite rejuvenating escape that is very easy to get to from all directions. We look forward with great anticipation to return to experience every season.

Beautiful property
This cabin is beautiful. Really spectacular. Overall my experience was great! My communication with Jolene was great, she is very responsive and helpful. The property is listed as described. Just a few tidbits to be aware of: It is somewhat close to the road. You can’t see the road but there is some road noise, luckily it is not too busy of a road. Another thing to keep in mind is that it is rustic cabin, a deep, top to bottom clean might be needed. The last thing, which is mentioned in the listing, is the rain noise on the metal roof. It did rain at 4:30 one morning and 5am on a different morning. It is loud so if there is any rain in the forecast you might want to pack the earplugs. Luckily I had some with me. Like I said though, really fabulous property overall. Very peaceful and enjoyed my stay!

We were looking for a quiet getaway and found it. Sipping beverages in the sunshine on the deck watching wildlife and the river drifting by provided an idyllic time. Jolene is an exceptional host and took very good care of us. We enjoy rustic cabin living. We will be back.

Hesitant to gush because then I might not be able to get in again because of all the other renters! This was a beautiful cabin, terrific location near outdoor activities but quite honestly we just loved being at the cabin! The antiques are amazing—so much fun cooking dinner and making s’mores on the fire pit. Hosts amazing—brought us a kitchen item we requested! I am absolutely going to come back either with my girls again or just by myself for a retreat. Thank you so much for sharing this amazing place!

Mother/Daughter Get Away
We had a wonderful time at the cabin! It was perfect for the 4 of us. My two older daughters (21 & 17) were able to fit up in the loft and sleep up there while my youngest (15) and I shared the bedroom. The loft is a bit tricky to get up into, but the girls slept there comfortably. The cabin had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable, the A/C worked, there were small fans to use, the appliances were plenty. The view of the creek is amazing! It was nice to just unplug for a bit and listen to the rain fall and the birds sing. I think the girls' favorite part of the cabin was the dart board. Not sure how many rounds they played! But it was definitely enjoyed by all. Not far from town, we enjoyed floating down the river in tubes at Loopy's and also enjoyed some great food at The District, Cancun Mexican Grill and The Nucleus (best crepes ever!). Thank you for a memorable weekend!

Wonderful getaway!
The cabin was a great spot for a few friends to meet up for a short getaway. Everything was just as described - and even more spacious than I expected! Very clean (even for a picky traveler) and well stocked. We didn’t end up meeting our hosts in person (by our choice) but they had excellent communication and were very responsive before and during our stay. The location is great - secluded and right on the creek with a good amount of spaces for outdoor fun (fire pit, lawn games etc) but an easy drive into Eau Claire or Chippewa Falls for food and activities. We didn’t stay long enough to end up using the kayaks but would have if we’d had a few more days! We generally had no cell service (as expected) but the WiFi worked great. Overall, highly recommend for your stay in the area, no complaints.

The true meaning of kicking back
Lil’ Kickback offers the perfect opportunity to be able to get a way from the everyday hustle and bustle of life, and enjoy the company of friends and family. Jolene is a great host that offers great communication as your days get closer to your stay. We enjoyed every minute of being at Lil’ Kickback, and definitely will be planning another trip back.

Gorgeous setting; Exceptional hosts
This cabin sits alongside a river on five acres of wooded land -- a very beautiful, secluded setting. Jolene, Mick and Jayden were unbelievably helpful and warm. They went above an beyond the call to make our stay a good one. My only complaint is that the property is listed as a 2- bedroom, but there is really only 1 bedroom and a very small, open loft space that you can't stand up in. I felt bad taking the bedroom and leaving my friend to this tiny non-private space. She had to keep her suitcase in the living room -- that's how small it is. I do think the website description should make this more clear for people.

A slice of heaven
This cabin is a slice of heaven! In the woods right by the river. It was exactly what we needed for an amazing snowy weekend getaway. The wood burning stove and ample supply of wood was wonderful. The kitchen is well appointed and has everything we needed to cook some delicious meals. We will definitely be coming back!! Debating on bringing the kids ;) Thank you for such a wonderful stay!

Kicking Back to celebrate 46 years of marriage.
L’il Kickback was the perfect stop along the way in our tour of Wisconsin. We felt the love and care that Jolene and Mick put into restoring a once rugged cabin. A 3 night stay allowed us time to explore the area and come home each night to a cozy fire and awaken to the sounds of Elk Creek. Delightful touches of fall motif made the cabin homey and comfy.

Cute and quaint cabin
This adorable cabin was a perfect stay for our little family. Sitting next to a little creek in the woods, but still close enough to town. It was cute and charming inside and out! Lovely cabin on a creek
This restored cabin is beautiful - they have maintained the wonderful log cabin features and added the luxuries you need to have a relaxing stay (fully equipped kitchen and very nice bathroom). The campfire area above the creek is very nice. You have a lot of privacy when you are here - which we really appreciated.

This beautifully restored rustic cabin was the perfect getaway. The property owner Jolene reached out a few different times before, during and after our stay to ensure that everything was perfect-and it was! Picture-perfect story book setting in the woods with all the comforts of home. Truly was everything we wanted and more. We cannot wait to go back!

Magical cabin retreat!
This vintage log cabin was lovingly rescued and restored after its many years in it’s picturesque setting overlooking Elk Creek. It’s natural surroundings provided a charming and restful retreat for an anniversary getaway for my husband and me. Jolene, our host, was dedicated to making sure our experience was a joy. We would highly recommend this immaculate, cozy, thoughtfully appointed haven. If we could give it more than five stars, we would!!!
