Cozy Getaway Near Water

Perfect Weekend Getaway
I highly recommend this property. It’s in a perfect location to many things in the area including bars, restaurants, and water sports. Everything we needed was there, all the extra little things were included. The outdoor pavilion and grilling area was awesome. The fire pit was perfect and we had all the wood we needed. Big open one space for all the activities and games do you wanna play. Excellent communication from the owner.

Perfect winter getaway
This was the perfect affordable romantic getaway. My wife and I needed a quiet winter weekend where we could bring our dog. The place was clean and has any amenity we would have needed. DBar down the road was really fun to have drinks with locals and Eastbay Lodge 15 minutes away was also a really nice place to eat.

Perfect northern Wisconsin fall getaway.
This place was great. One of the best places I have stayed in. Our family is ethnically diverse. The local bars and restaurants all treated us like locals. I would recommend this place and area to anyone. We will definitely be booking this place again!

Secluded escape
We had the best time this weekend. Bruce was lovely and very great at communicating if we needed him. The property was spacious, incredibly well stocked, and it feels like Bruce thought of everything! Loved kayaking down the river, giant fire pit for roasting marshmallows (complete with roasting skewers right there for us), giant tv’s with comfortable seating, privacy with the separate bedrooms, and who could forget the hot tub?! There were plenty of fans (I need to sleep with a fan) plus central air. All the utensils, condiments, paper towels, soaps, toiletries, etc! The only thing to note is there is nothing for grocery stores anywhere near this location. My suggestion is to plan ahead and pick up groceries on the way. Fortunately previous renters had left plenty of things like cereal, frozen pizzas, etc. There were several jugs of drinking water in case you don’t like well water, yard games galore, and best of all Bruce left us a gift certificate for the local eatery! Can’t say enough great things. Book your trip here, you won’t regret it.

Great Getaway
Wonderful time staying at the Piece of Paradise. Best part was all the fun we had kayaking and tubing on the river. Check in/out was easy, the house was clean and fit 8 adults very comfortably for the weekend. Would come back!

Family vacation
We did a family vacation with 12 people. There were plenty of kayaks and tubes for floating the river. The shed has a supply of outdoor games. It was a bit close quarters but there was plenty of beds and seating. And we were outside a lot. By the pics I thought the river was right across the road, but you actually go down the hill through a short path in the woods, then cross the road to the river. Bruce was friendly and helpful. He sent helpful info on directions to the place. It was an enjoyable vacation.

lots of toys- good space
I invited my sisters and families to come on a quick midweek stay. We all loved all the toys. Kids played about every yard game and we all used kayaks. The area and space was perfect for us. This cabin had everything you would ever need! It was a great get away for us.

Great spot!
This place was perfect for a little bachelorette getaway with some friends. It’s spacious inside and out with a lot of places to sit and sleep. Big backyard area for playing games and enjoying outdoor activities. Fully stocked with practically everything we needed which was SO helpful. Bruce is so friendly and easy to work with. We will definitely be booking with him again in the future

Winter Weekend
The cabin was just what we needed for a weekend away from home. We took our kids up to Christie Mountain to tube and ski and we hope to go back and do this again. The cabin is well stocked and has everything you need. Bruce was very helpful and easy to reach as well!

River Cabin
I was blown away by this property! Everything was even better than I expected. Plenty of room, everything was kept neat and clean. The place came stocked with everything we didn't even think to bring. Bruce the owner was super helpful and responded to any questions right away. Definitely would rent again!

Family labor day getaway
Had a good time with the family. Plenty to do with the nice weather. It would have been pretty tight for all of us if it rained. We liked being on the deck for meals and hanging out. Nice new comfortable beds. 2 refrigerators was very handy with a large group. Outdoor toilet came in handy since there was only 1 indoor bathroom.

Quite and clean
we used this lodge for our wedding and it had everything! Bruce (owner) takes care of everything! This place is great for family gatherings and a week at the lake! Its a short walk to the water and located near (10-15 minute drive) all the local stops. Kitchen has EVERYTHING from plates to all the kitchenware you need for a home cooked meal! The site has all the outdoor stuff you need for having fun on the water. 2 firepits and a grill! Bruce does an amazing job and will walk thru the home to make sure you don't forget anything!!! Overall, we loved it!

Awesome!
This is my first cabin rental experience and I was very impressed. Bruce was able to answer all of my questions and was such a great host (even was willing to mail us the few things we left behind) . There was plenty of space in the cabin, and fit our group of 16 people perfectly. What made it even better was the ample amount of amenities available for us; you name it, this place had it: kitchen supplies, coffee, towels, blankets, lawn chairs, games, kayaks, tubes, and so on. We had lots of fun on our trip including floating down the river, chilling in the gazebo, gathering around the campfire, and enjoying the beautiful landscape around us. Definitely would stay at this place again!

Wonderful weekend
Bruce was very responsive and the property was nice. Thought it would be more secluded but thats alright we still enjoyed our weekend and had a great time. Also fit 20 of us and had plenty of space to sleep.

Family vacay
Our entire family stayed here for 5 days, kids, teens, and adults. The scenery was awesome, the cabin is loaded with anything you could want/need! We had a rain day and made use of the game tables and movies, with all of us inside there was more than enough room, 13 of us! We rented a boat from airtec sports and kept it at the dock with no problems, we also went kayaking, canoeing, and a little fishing. Bruce was quick to respond and very accommodating, even giving us tips on fun things to do in the area! This was just what we needed!! Thank you so much Bruce!

Summer Vacation
Had a blast out at this cabin. Owner was very nice and also very helpful putting this trip together. Had 15ppl at one point and had plenty of space to accommodate everyone comfortably. Plenty of seating and outdoors activities to keep us all busy. Hopefully we'll be able to do this again soon!

Great stay!
We had a great long weekend at the house. Lots and lots of outdoor space for the 6 little kids with us to run around, ride bikes and play. And a great outdoor covered gazebo for the parents to relax and enjoy the beautiful views. It’s a short walk down the driveway to the pier or about a 10 minute drive to lake Holcombes beach which the kids really enjoyed. Bruce was very accommodating and always easy to get a hold of with any questions. We would definitely stay there again in future trips up to the area.

Nice, but NOT waterfront. Can't even see water from unit.
The communication and check in process with the owner was excellent. Very friendly, clean, tons of amenities. "Extras" like condiments, water jugs, coffee, firewood, and some foods available for use. Nice place and nice beds/furniture, but everything was very tightly positioned inside. It was fine for the 5 of us, but I can't imagine sleeping/housing/eating more people than that. The second "half bath" is a porta potty in an outside shed. The deck, fire pits and gazeebo areas are very nice. I liked the place itself, but I take issue with the property description on VRBO. I wrongly assumed from the description that the rental was on the water with a water view. What it ended up being is access to an "association dock" and shared waterfront property through the trees, down the hill, and across the highway. ("waterfront" was a keyword I used to find the place on VRBO. It should not be classified as a waterfront property - we couldn't even SEE the water from the unit!! This was very, very dissapointing. Just trees, a hay field, and two neighboring houses - one if them fairly close. From the description and for the price we paid we assumed it was waterfront as listed. Shame on us for not confirming. We envisioned fishing, swimming, boating, kayaking, and letting kids play in the water within view of the cabin. This was impossible since the cabin was almost a quarter mile walk up the driveway from the water. Leaving a boat on the dock was at your own risk since you couldn't see it. (Nor was the 2' deep river section conducive to boating) The owner was very nice to meet and talk with; however, we feel the description of the property is misleading at the least.

From the owner, first I like to say thanks for the wonderful things said! The unit has 14 beds and sleeps 20 in beds and has seating for 40 people. There is a full kitchen and a nice breakfast bar along with a bar with 6 full size bar stools. As far as the property description and map is concerned, it does show the Chippewa River is across the street but there is plenty of river frontage attached to the cabin property. That property is right on the water and has a wonderful view of the river. Even though the water is only 32" near the dock, there has been many boats and pontoons docked there and left overnight. Many boats, pontoons, kayaks go up and down the river past the dock. It's also a very popular area for tubing, floatables and other water activities...
