🌿 A Hidden Paradise: Xanadu Villas, Zanzibar After exploring countless options across Zanzibar, my husband and I ultimately chose Xanadu Villas to celebrate my birthday — and it turned out to be one of the best travel decisions we’ve ever made. We’ve traveled extensively around the world, always seeking privacy, personalized service, and genuine luxury rather than large, impersonal resorts. Xanadu Villas exceeded every expectation. From the very moment they picked us up at the airport, the experience began — and it was nothing short of amazing. Every detail, from the warm welcome letter to the effortless transfer to the villa, made us feel that something truly special awaited us at Xanadu. When we arrived, it felt like stepping into a secluded dream — intimate, elegant, and perfectly curated. Our private butler, Thomas, was exceptional. His attentiveness, professionalism, and kindness elevated the entire experience. Every detail — from the candlelit dinners to the spontaneous, thoughtful touches throughout our stay — reflected an impeccable standard of hospitality. And the food — truly unforgettable. Beautiful hotel. The staff is the best part. The barefoot concept is great. If you are looking for a relaxing and quiet getaway this is the one. The ocean is not very accessible as it is mainly coral so keep that in mind when booking- you will most likely be 99% in the pool not the ocean.

Property is nice, but the area is not the best in Zanzibar. Beach is right where a working fishing village is located. Not very private at all! Property is nice, grounds are ok. Overall upkeep of the property is below expectations. We switched villas and the second one was better, but not in pristine condition. Villa layout is awkward. Bathroom is separate from the room structure and with a very peculiar design, offering very little privacy. Pricing is outrageous, at more then $1,000 a night, for a so-so experience. The bright spot is service and food, but overall this property is way way way overpriced!!
