For personal reasons, my family wanted to take a trip to Salt Lake City. We thought it would be a great family experience to take the kids skiing in Park City while we were there.
Unfortunately, my mom, the kids grandma, had a stroke the night before we were supposed to go. Needless to say we were unable to go on the trip. The property manager’s, VacationCandy, response to my request to simply reschedule the visit to a later date was cold and unwilling to help in anyway. After several email exchanges, they agreed to apply their $500 commission to my next visit, but I am still out close to $4,000, and that assumes I would ever use them again.
The summary of their conversation was I should have bought insurance. My experience with travel insurance has been terrible and I highly doubt this would have been covered. Would love to hear from others who might have had a similar situation and the trip was in fact covered by the insurance.
