"Do not be discouraged by the road to Rancho Humo, what lies at the end turned out to be a real gem. This property is nestled up against the central wetlands of Nicoya peninsula on the shore of the Tempisque river and is a definitive location for birdwatchers from all over. My wife and I are not birdwatchers but booked this based on its remote location and its high marks from other reviews. We also booked in offseason so fortunately for us we were the only guests and the staff was so great to make us feel welcome and taken care of all week. Be sure to let Kenneth make you feel welcome and attend to whatever your needs are and listen to his vast knowledge about the property and it’s animal inhabitants while on the safari tour. Also, Chef Kenya is an absolute magician in the kitchen so don’t miss her daily culinary offerings. Will absolutely return one day, maybe not during the rainy season though… 😁"

Place is great, monkeys in trees, beautiful grounds, you can tell the owners have gone out of there way to make staying here an absolute pleasure. Great location for activities, groceries and food. Air conditioned rooms, kitchen with everything you would need and great outdoor space. Definitely would stay again. "

"We enjoyed this house. It was so comfortable and having the extra pullout beds was so convenient. The pool was so perfect and kids really enjoyed it. Traveling into town to eat was so easy and finding the property off the highway was easy as well. We really enjoyed our days at this house. "

I want to mention the high quality linens - both bedding and towels. The house and outdoor living areas were spotless. Something we appreciate was the quality of the roads leading to the house (if you have driven off the main roads in Costa Rica, you know what I am talking about). Any questions we had were answered promptly. The property is managed by the owner and pride of ownership shows through out the whole property! We would absolutely stay here again if the opportunity ever arose. "
