This trip was planned for 2022 but my daughter and husband were both battling cancer so things got "rebooted! " I was so happy to find that this cabin was available for our timeline in 2023 as it just spoke to me. The owners were understanding when I had to cancel and booked me without question for 2023 when I rebooked almost a year later. Everything was easy from start to finish with booking, checking in and checking out. The cabin is obviously well loved and you can see many upgrades and renovations that have occurred while keeping the "old time" feel. The bank of windows across the front is genius and allowed us to listen to the rain and the neighboring creek while taking in the view. TV's abounded but not a one was ever turned on. There are many wonderful hiking trails not far away (a great loop on an ATV trail just across from the house if the weather isn't cooperating) and a sunset kayak on the lake after a beautiful hike was a great way to end each day. All of the beds were comfortable though we couldn't get Kat away from those windows in the front room and she slept there. If you're looking to vacation in Maine on a lake with great hiking, views and kayaking, this is your place. I honestly can't recommend it enough. Not only were our activity requirements met, but the couches with the view and sounds was perfect for recovery time. Thank you for opening up your little piece of heaven.

We had to change our plans at the last minute and booked for this cottage in Seneca. We had an absolutely lovely relaxing time but the outstanding feature was how helpful the owner was. Nothing was too much trouble in terms of advice about where to go especially in view of storm damage. We loved it and hope to visit again from the UK

4 days in Maine
First off we enjoyed our stay. The pictures on VRBO are very deceiving, You can not see the lake from the house and is a long walk to the water. I have a bad back so I wasn't able to enjoy the water frontage. Also the gas grill on the deck as alot to be desired.

Glad you enjoyed your stay but disappointed that you say it's a long walk to the lake and the photos on the VRBO listing are deceiving relative to the lake. You may have missed the photo we have entitled "view from the deck" that shows the lawn with the lake beyond. Sorry to that you found the grill to be lacking - we would have had our maintenance man come to take a look during your stay had we known (we also looked at it after you checked out and it seemed to be working fine).

Great family vacation
My family loved the property. The cabin was the perfect size for us. Be sure to bring your own Roku or firestick. The yard to the water's edge was a little tough for those of us who have trouble walking. Otherwise very nice property.

Such a wonderful time!
We LOVED our week at the cabin! Everything was exactly as described, and the property was even better than the photos. Rosemary's communication was incredible from the moment we booked. She made wonderful recommendations, stayed in touch as needed, and answered every question we had. We had a great time, would love to come back, and highly recommend this listing! Fun family vacation
We had a great time relaxing at the house. We had campfires, used the grill and my daughter loved swimming with the fish off of the dock. We rented a pontoon boat from Merrill’s Marina and was out on the lake everyday fishing and tubing!

Unbelievable Colors on Sebec Lake
We lucked out and were there for the peak of colors on Sebec Lake! We also lucked out and had the dock in the water when we arrived. They did not bring the dock in until the day before we left.

Sebec Lake House
My wife and I along with my sister had a very relaxing stay at the lake house. Plenty of space and amenities for us. Nice location right on the lake. Going into town for supplies was a pleasant drive of 20-25 minutes. Rosemary was an excellent host. Great communication. She provided all the information on the area that we would need. I would recommend the lake house and definitely revisit if staying in that area of Maine again. Steve D.

Beautiful rural location!
We thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing stay at the property with three children and two adults. Beautiful yard with plenty of room to play, relaxing wrap around porch with plenty of sun and shade to choose your fancy. Inside of the house was neat and organized, rustic decorations that made the place comfortable. One bedroom on the first floor, one small loft room with two twin beds and a partially finished basement with a bathroom and bedroom. Although the layout was a bit different from what we’re used to, it did the trick! Our only wish was that there was a better view of the lake from the porch area. Many of the trees have grown significantly from when the photo was taken and you actually cannot see but a smidge of the lake from the porch, although the backyard as I mentioned was beautiful. House had everything we needed and even some things we hadn’t thought of bringing. Nice selection of things to do on rainy days, etc. takes about 30 minutes to get anywhere, very quiet and rural area, lots of ATV trails in the area! Thank you for a wonderful stay! We hope to visit again soon!

Great location!
Great location right on the water, so close to ATV trails and all other sorts of outdoor adventure. Cottage is spacious and nice, great deck, nice private, yard...bigger than I expected. Some updating needed, but nothing that would spoil a trip. Overgrown trees & bushes starting to obscure lake view, which is too bad. Overall my family and I loved it and will definitely return!

Great Getaway on the Lake
My family and I had a wonderful time on Sebec Lake. The lake was clear and warm, and my children enjoyed snorkeling, kayaking and catching frogs. Rosemary was the perfect host and very attentive.

Serene lake setting
We had a wonderful time at the camp. It was well set up for family. The kids we disappointed the water level at the end of the lake was down for swimming we rented a boat from Merrill’s and had a great day out swimming and also went to the public beach. The owners we wonderful to work with great communication prior to getting there. We never tire of being at sebec lake can’t wait til our next visit

Great Stay
The property was clean and stocked with all the basics. There is plenty of space to spread out and my teen boys loved the loft bedroom. The fire pit was set up so perfectly for a night of roasting marshmallows. The dock was amazing for our boat and provided beautiful views of the sunset. The many provided fans with open windows made for a comfortable temperature in the house without need for AC. The driveway is steep but was not an issue for my AWD vehicle. My family ventures to Sebec annually and this was definitely a top pick of the places I have been on lake. Highly recommend!

Excellent Cottage
The property had everything we needed. Nice and quiet. One recommendation to visitors… if you have a ROKU-type device, bring it along. The wireless is decent so if you have a Netflix account, that gives you options since there is no cable or satellite available.

We had a wonderful experience at this property... The lake was a little low due to the drought but made a comeback and we were able to moor or boat. The house was very nice... Awesome yard and deck. Kayaks were in good shape and fishing was successful.

Lakefront?Yes! But Water Level Too LOW to Swim On Site!
Highs; Nice Cabin woodwork throughout, Plenty of room with sleeping for 8. Nice Private Setting. Well stocked with everything you need. 2 Nice Light Single Kayaks(Good thing because a long walk down property to water) with paddles. Lows; No cable TV, Horrible Internet,could use better linens. But worst of all because of a year long drought no water to swim by shore,you have to walk out 50 yards through weeds to water.Could use a window AC as temps got to 85 inside on our very warm August week.

We're glad that you found the house large enough for 8 and that it's in a private setting and is well-stocked with everything needed. We want everyone to enjoy their vacations like they're at home! Also glad you enjoyed the kayaks. Sorry you had issues with the internet - this partly comes with being in a very rural area and limited internet providers - admittedly it's not good for heavy-duty purposes but it's ok for general emails, web-surfing, social stuff and Netflix. We clearly state on our listing that there is no cable TV so sorry you missed that. The water level has improved somewhat from your stay in early August and hopefully will be back to normal by next summer.

Spacious and Comfortable
We had a quiet and restful stay. Caught some fish, did some exploring and shopping. House was stocked with everything we needed. Friendly small town. The owner Rosemary answered all our questions and made us feel right at home.

Wonderful time
Cabin was as it should be, cozy and clean. The upstairs bedroom is best suited for children but we didn't use it. Wasn't as close to the water as I would have liked but a very short walk to the dock and listening to the ducks, geese and loons was wonderful. Went to the dock on a clear moonless night and looked like 2 skies! Could see the stars on the water like a mirror! Very close to 2 small towns with everything we needed, rented some movies and hunckered down on the couch! We really relaxing and quiet. Will be back!

Great location and beautiful cottage
The cottage is great, more than enough space to house 9 people. Have 2 kayaks and a fire pit which really added to the fun. The couches could use a little cleaning, they looked old and dusty. Kitchen could also use a blender. But other than that it’s a 5 star

Most excellent lake house
Property was exactly as advertised. We loved sitting out on the deck, sitting down by the dock. Kayaks were in good shape and we paddled quite a bit. Sat by the shore for beautiful sunsets. We brought our telescope and did some nice sky watching. All in all a lovely spot. Mattresses really could use replacement.

Had a great time. Weather was amazing! The water was low so we had to be very careful when docking the boat. Main level of camp was hit but the basement bedroom stayed nice and cool for our stay. Would definitely return for a a family vacation with the kids!

Great vacation home
Beautiful home and love the view of the sunset down at your dock! Great lake for fishing and not far from boat launch was very nice. We fished three days out in our boat and only made it about halfway down the lake. Saw loons, ducks and (we think) golden eagles

Comfortable cabin
This cabin is in a beautiful location on Sebec Lake. The cabin is fully equipped to give you a relaxing vacation and is close enough to town that you don't have to worry or you forgot to bring anything with you. It was clean, comfortable, and peaceful. It is very easy to get in touch with Rosemary. We loved the use of the kayaks this year, as well. Thanks for another great stay!

Cozy Camp on Sebec Lake
We had a great experience at this camp! Our only suggestion would be, maybe new mattresses! Everything else was awesome. Rosemary was great, she got back to us right away with answers to any of our questions!

Excellent getaway! Cabin was beautiful and cozy. The view of the lake from pier had amazing sunset. Would consider coming back for sure! Rental owners were very considerate and timely with responses to any questions and concerns we had.

Property was well maintained and everything was as advertised.
7 of us stayed for three nights for an atv trip. Trail is located almost directly from camp. The camp was spacious and cozy. Only negative thing we found was some of the mattresses were not very comfy but the bedding was nice and clean. The owner was pleasant and easy to communicate with. We would stay here again in the future for sure!!!!

Quaint, quiet, peaceful!
Family stay at this property was phenomenal! 4 adults and 3 kids under 2 and we all slept comfortably. Cabin was tidy and well equipped to cook in if you wanted to stay in for the weekend. Rosemary was in touch before we got there so we knew everything we needed to know with no confusion! Weather was perfect and the view did not disappoint! We Would recommend this Cabin to anyone! Family stay or romantic stay, it’s both charming and beautiful!

This place shouldnt be a secret.
The cabin has a warm and cozy feeling inside and out. It slept 8 very comfortable , everything you could think of that you need was provided. Sebec Lake is beautiful and we were there when the leaves were changing so the scenery made it that much better. Were already talking about returning next year. I cant wait. Gulf Hagas is a must hike , we seen our first moose in the wild another + to our vacation. Thanks for having us.

Serene Get Away
Although we were in Maine for the mournful event of my brother's burial, we enjoyed our stay. The lake was peaceful & serene. It reminded us of all the happy times we spent together during our summers on a lake in upstate NY The cabin had all of the amenities we desired. We were able to have family over & grill on the deck, enjoyed an evening around the fire pit. We thoroughly enjoyed our family time at this beautiful cabin. I would highly recommend it for a relaxing time to get away from it all.
