We had two small beds together in one room. My wife’s bed was slipping from the end so 20-30 pct was unusable and mattress should be replaced. Bathroom also had duct tape on the ceiling and the shower is barely 2 feet wide. I couldn’t shower without hitting my hand somewhere. Location is great but I wouldn’t stay here again. There were also no coffee pods for the coffee machine but there was creamer. The pool was dirty when we arrived and had some sort of paper clogging the drain system. Check-in was empty when we arrived and no staff was able to tell us where to go to check in or when the desk would be staffed. They don't answer the phone. I requested late check out which was accepted and I put do not disturb on the door. Housekeeping still barged in and woke us up and was annoyed we hadn't left. "Overall, the hotel was lovely. The room was clean and had everything we needed, although if you need an iron you need to request the whole laundry service. The staff were so helpful and really friendly, nothing was too much trouble. It is in a quiet area near the river but hard to walk anywhere from it. Only a short drive to Alcacer do Sal. "What an amazing hotel. Staff were very helpful and friendly, our room was large, and very clean, but the real star of the show is the stunning castle itself. There are so many areas to explore. Sitting rooms, the chapel, a pool table room, and the outside pool area is from a fairytale. It’s like going back in time. We felt like royalty. 100% recommended."

"This is a house that has been converted to a hotel. I did not realize that there are not on-suite bathrooms and you must use the bathroom and shower down the hall which is hard with two small children and sometime there was a wait. There is also no AC and our room was on the side that the sun would bake in the afternoon which made our room hot all night as there was no cross breeze. This made our nights pretty miserable but thankfully we were on there for two nights. The staff was very helpful...
