“This historic hotel is located in the heart of Appenzell and has a lovely restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. It is a short walk from the train station, is clean and charming and rooms have comfortable beds and bedding. The included breakfast is plentiful and delicious with good coffee :) The staff were incredibly kind and accommodating - when we had to check out very early at the end of our stay, they packed us a delicious lunch to take with us on the train the night before we left……

“Would love to try the main building as Hotel Weissbad next time. This time we stay with Weissbad Lodge in an attic room. The lobby is new and self served. The interior of the attic room though spacious however looks old and dirty with the choice of the floor wood and the lighting. Won’t choose the Lodge next time. But the receptionist in Hotel Wiessbad ( check in here though I stay at the lodge) was very helpful and friendly. Clear instructions and good advice on the tourist spots. ”

“Staff were helpful on check in, recommended some places to eat. However not a great deal in the area, Vaduz is a short drive away though. If wanting to stay local there is a good Irish bar who had very good and friendly staff. The location of the hotel itself is on an industrial estate, however parking is easy. Would have liked a kettle in the room to make hot drinks for the morning. Also cleaning didn’t change the towel and only one was provided, it doesn’t dry to quickly in the bathroom.”

“The Hotel Appenzell is absolutely charming! The central location on the plaza is excellent, with a view to activities going on in town. It's conveniently right next to the Tourist Info center. The staff was cheerful and helpful. They responded promptly to requests, such as for a fan in our room. The room was delightful. It was bigger than other rooms we stayed in in Switzerland, and it was decorated in a charming, white and gold french style, with crystal ceiling lights, and big windows……

“Wir hatten zwei gleiche Zimmer, eines war im Nebengebäude und deutlich älter und nicht so schön wie das andere Zimmer im Hauptgebäude - das hat uns nicht gefallen - zum Glück hatten meine Frau und ich das Zimmer im Nebengebäude und nicht meine Eltern. Ansonsten: Lage ist gut, parken ist gut, Frühstück und Abendessen (separat) war sehr gut für den Preis. Insgesamt ein schöner Aufenthalt”
