Great property, perfect for extended family stay

This property was perfect for a long weekend visiting family in the area. The layout of the house was great and stair gate and high chair were provided for our 1 year old. My toddlers loved the big double bunk beds. It’s a bit of a drive from anywhere but that area of VT is generally quite spread out so not sure you can get more central. We did lots of fun things within a 20-60 min drive. Only frustrating thing was that the original info we were sent said 4pm check-in and 11am check out but last minute info then said 3pm check in and 10am check-in but plans were easily tweaked.

Fine, not great

Overall this house was fine. We had enough space for our group of two families with four kids ages 5, 6, 7, and 9. There were some conveniences we appreciated such as the shampoo, conditioner, and soap in the bathrooms, laundry detergent, and microwave popcorn. Emilie was very responsive, including sending someone out to repair the shed which was damaged when we arrived. Now for the downsides… The garbage disposal was broken and the grill was in rough shape. There were no extra linens available - we only had access to limited towels and the sheets on the beds, everything else was in locked closets. This house is also located pretty far up the hill, so it felt like a bit of a shlep to get anywhere including to the Quechee Club.

Return to Vermont

This was our first trip back to Vermont since our dads died in 2016 and we had great expectations. Close to town and the location was perfect. The house was dated (especially the downstairs bedrooms) and there were just some things that were a little off. According the the host, the cleaning lady was sick prior to our arrival. That meant the towels were still in the laundry, there were numerous light bulbs burned out, the one thermostat needed new batteries and plenty of leaves on the front walkway leading into the house. The reviews were right that the garbage disposal still didn't work and just some of the things weren't attended to. Our family did enjoy the spacious layout as they all had their own space and we enjoyed our time as a family. However, we feel that for the price of the rental, there were just too many 'little things' not attended to.

Great home with excellent management

Beautiful location for our family trip and would absolutely recommend the house! We used the house as our hub while driving in/around VT & NH to enjoy the fall scenery. Location was great & we didn't need to travel far to enjoy gorgeous views. The house was pretty much as expected but the little extras (like coffee, filters & creamer) was such a pleasant surprise! Also enjoyed the easy check out process. We weren't aware of the couple steps up/down in the living room to the main level bedroom (only concerned as one of our family members had recently undergone foot surgery). They were easy for her to handle, just making sure others are aware (I may have missed them in the description!). Beds were super comfy, the house smelled clean and the housekeeper did a great job. We had a small issue with the heat (there was no access to turn it up) but the owner/manager responded VERY QUICKLY with an immediate quick fix which was greatly appreciated!! We stayed at another house after this on our trip and the lack of responsiveness made our stay here even more pleasant!! Thanks for sharing your home!!

cozy, but disappointing

The main living space and kitchen are beautiful spaces and we enjoyed using these for our family's holiday get together. However the bedrooms and bathrooms especially on the lower floor are outdated compared to the rest of the house. Two incidents occurred during our stay that were very annoying: the fire alarm's low battery signal went off the first night and was not replaced until 4pm the following afternoon. We couldn't reach it ourselves due to the ceiling's height, requiring a step ladder. It beeped every 20 seconds the entire time! Secondly, both the freezer and fridge stopped working within the first 24 hours of our stay and these were not fixed at all. We kept our groceries outside in the snow to keep them from spoiling. I understand that sometimes unfortunate things happen unexpectedly and that's just bad luck, but when I was chatting with the caretaker who came by to fix the fire alarm, I gathered that the fridge had broken down before and they knew it had a tendency to be "finicky." Please just replace the fridge instead of letting your unsuspecting guests roll the dice.I think the host tried to be as responsive as she could, but I probably wouldn't book this property again.

Perfect for our family reunion

Very comfortable, spacious, and convenient. We booked two houses from Emilie and Clint and had no problem hosting everyone in this one for dinners/games. Very convenient to Quechee and everything the Woodstock area has to offer. We would definitely stay here again.
