The pool was out of service. I picked this hotel from the pics I saw of the pool. We drove 13 hours from Michigan for an appointment we had in Wilmington. We just wanted to relax in the pool for the afternoon. Our appointment was for the next morning. The air conditioning unit sounded like a siren all night. We didn’t get much sleep. It was a disappointing stay.

No housekeeping, pool was closed, breakfast was at 7am and it was grab and go. All of these things were sent in an email after the room was booked and after any type of refund could be issued. These things should be advised beforehand.

The room itself was okay, a bit tight for a *handicap accessible" room, except the beds were not that comfortable. It was the shower/bathroom. There was no place to put anything, the entire floor was flooded and then so slick. I didn’t request a handicap room, but they are usually fine. If I had a wheelchair it would have been really hard to maneuver the space. The bathroom was very uncomfortable. No place for anything, the floor flooded all the way to the sink and toilet. The floor was super slick, I mean when it floods that far out and then finally drains there was a soap line. Literally had to line the floor with towels not to fall. The pool was closed for maintenance, which was fine but the smell in the lobby (scent the spayed to cover up) was a bad choice. Also the pictures online are deceiving, there was no sitting area in the "room suite".

I was given a room that had not been cleaned. On entering my room I found 3 bathroom towels on a wet bathroom floor. The toilet had cigarette ashes in it and upon using I found that it did not flush. The front desk did offer to switch rooms but I needed to quickly change for a dinner and could not wait for a room to be ready. I was in my room maybe 30 mins and once I left I did not return. It was extremely disappointing that I was placed in a room that had not been cleaned.

We stayed in a suite. It was a large room, which was perfect for us. There were quite a few things that needed attention. The cabinet that housed the mini fridge and microwave was in need of some repair. The door to the cabinet would not close at all. There was very obvious water damage under the fridge, like perhaps it had leaked. The cabinet was warped and missing pieces. The bathtub dripped water nonstop. Lastly, and I understand this isn’t necessarily the hotels fault, but the people above us were very loud both nights. Sounded like they were running and jumping on and off the beds.

I was at this property on December 29 2023 and they had known hot water issues (no hot water) and at reserveration or check in this information was not given. The next morning when my daughter and I tried to take showers is when we found out. Go to front desk and they tell me it has been a know hot water issue for over a week and at check in they should have told me and gave me a number to call and the manager name. They are refusing to refusing to compensate or refund for the inconvenience. Expedia has done nothing to help and they also gave no notification of this known issue at this property.

Choose a different hotel
First and foremost.....I should have read the reviews. Please need the warnings that this hotel is in disrepair. We decided to leave a day early due to the conditions of the property but were denied a refund for the last night due to it being after checkout time. That didn't matter in the long run, we were ready to go. I've tried to attach some photos of the condition of our room however the photo upload button will not work on here. Our hot water barely worked....the thermostat was in the first part of the room so it didn't adequately gauge the temperature for the second part. The windows had been replaced at some point and had a large crack in the top part which let in all parking lot sound and cold air. There are diffusers and air fresheners all over the hotel. Mold and dust around air vents. And to top it all off our door didn't lock at all. Please choose a different place.

We stayed at this hotel specifically for the amenities of having an indoor pool and hot tub only to arrive and find out after check in that the hotels pool and hot tub were CLOSED. Too bad that the pool was closed and we found it out once we were there. That was one of the reasons to go with my whole family. If I knew that it was closed I would have chosen another place or I would have gone just to the UNC on Saturday and come back same day!!!!

It had mold on the carpet outside the bathroom, under the bath mat it was filthy, carpet was dirty,I had to wash my feet again before I put my feet into my shoes. They need a bug man desperately
