Stylish fisherman's cottage in heart of pretty harbour village, pet-friendly.

The East Neuk of Fife stretches from St Andrews down a coastline peppered with small villages, full of character, which face across The Firth of Forth to East Lothian on the opposite side. A jumble of quaint colourful houses lead down narrow winding streets to line the harbours and rocky shores and their distinctive crow-stepped gables, fore stairs and red pantiles preserve the impression of their time as fishing villages that were totally dedicated to the sea. St Monans itself became one of Scotland's busiest fishing ports for many years but, from the mid 1800's the fleet dwindled and the village had to rely less on fishing and more on its heritage, capitalising on its preserved architecture and waterfront (that is still very much a working harbour today). The Neuk has an open plan living/dining/kitchen on the ground floor. Stairs lead to the shower-room and bedroom. The top floor provides the 2nd bedroom. The cottage is set back from the road providing an outdoor space for sitting.

Quaint fishermans cottage.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property, in particular walks along the coastal path, that were not too challenging. The accomodation was clean tidy and compact. The beds were comfortable and bedlinen, towels etc clean and of a good quality.

Wir waren so gerne in deinem Fischerhaus und haben uns extrem wohl und sicher gefühlt. Vielen Dank für die liebevolle Ausstattung, die schönen warmen Betten, das gemütliche Bad und auch dafür, dass unsere Wohnung schnell warm wurde, wenn es draußen regnerisch und rauh war! Relaxing break
Delightful cottage with everything you need for a chilled break on the coast. Steven was very helpful with questions. Location is quaint and great to reach other coastal towns. Lovely restaurants in Anstruthers and the doorstep. Just take good walking shoes and a jacket so the weather doesn’t stop you drinking up the area

Cosy and stylish
Steven has made this a very attractive place to stay. It is well equipped and the open fire is perfect for a cold night. You are seconds from the harbour and though you don’t have a view of it it does mean that you aren’t disturbed by passers by. Follow Steven’s recommendations and you won’t go far wrong. A great place to recharge your batteries.

Beautiful coastal stay
Excellent coastal home base for moving student to St. Andrews. Almost too far at 25 minutes, but lovely drive back and forth and very nice relaxing space. Very clean, easy to park on the street, and friendly village.

Seaside Stay
Enjoyed St. Monans - The space was perfect for us, beds comfy and living space relaxing. For us, it was too hot in the space when sleeping- we could have used a sheet or much lighter bedding. The restaurant across the street had wonderful home baked cakes we bought in the morning for our evening tea and treat. The other menu items were inviting too just didn’t have opportunity to try. Really enjoyed the East Pier Restaurant, ate twice - sat on the terrace, whole seabass, cullen skink, and pan fried Mackerel - so yummy! We explored the many other fishing villages and walked the fife trail. This is a wonderful area to visit, explore and breathe in the beauty.
