I first stayed here 19 years ago for my sister’s wedding. The property has expanded a bit, to include an onsite restaurant, which is very good and breakfast and one dinner entree are included. The fresh and a decent variety. Typical spices in a dish have a distinctly Costa Rican twist.
The entire staff is helpful, attentive and courteous. The grounds are well maintained but still keep the jungle authenticity..just as it was years ago.
The area around the property is amazingly beautiful. An incredible beach hike (you can walk for hours back and forth) is located just past the last jungle king villa.
The Dome is stayed in was so lovely with a balcony and outdoor shower. Housekeeping comes everyday (not necessary really, but it seems the custom) and does a great job.
The pool is soothing and relaxing and so is the roar of the ocean waves to lull you to sleep at night or one of the numerous, well appointed hammocks or loungers around the property.
The monkeys are adorably mischievous..just beware..and so entertaining to observe.
If you are driving, you will not need a 4x4 if you follow Waze directions, google map took me over rivers😳. However, if you wish to park at the resort (as opposed to limited in town spaces by El Sano Banano) you will need to navigate sand for a short stretch so need a 4x4.
I look forward to getting back again before another 20 years!
