“The location is convenient for me to join the cave activity nearby. The room is spacious but I did not get the room key. I was told the key was taken away by someone. It was strange! The flowers around are beautiful! A Jacuzzi pool is available for the guests although I did not have time to enjoy it.”

“Such a great place to stay when checking out Waitomo. Highly recommend staying in a private room as a couple. But when we passed by the hostel type rooms, they were quite charming too. We’d love to visit again with friends and family. Great cooking facilities and even a washer/dryer.”

“We've stayed here before so knew it was basic and roomy. The old curtains have been replaced and it was pretty clean. Linens were comfortable. The space heater was dated but worked. Cute place, overall needs some love, attention and definitely needs updating. It could be adorable. We missed the donkeys on the roof this time.”

“Front desk staff was very friendly, room was nice and we had a lot of options within walking distance. Would have loved a washing facility but staff did tell us of a laundromat just down the road.”

“The host/owner could not have been nicer! He was so friendly and hospitable. The property was to die for gorgeous! Take a short walk down to the Glowworm Grotto or wander along the sheep farm/property. This place was idyllic! We wish we could have stayed longer. ”

“We stayed here with our 2 kiddos ages 10 & 12. It was clean and cute and the kids were totally blown away by the experience of staying in a hobbit house! It definitely has a motel vibe, and the kitchenette is small, but there were some decorating touches that really added to the hobbit feel. The owners provided space heaters that were really nice to have, but the bunk room definitely developed a musty smell that we couldn’t get rid of. The property is really pretty to walk around and super close……

“The surrounding is beautiful and close bye everything where we came for. Many lamps didn’t work. There were no pictures of the 2 sleeping eras below in the ship on the information site. They had no comfort and had not a pleasant smell, what keep some of us awake. All in all much too expensive what we got!”

“We really enjoyed the repurposed train car, it was just right for 2. It also has a bedroom for 3 more, but given the 1 bath, our 2 were enough. Walking distance to both principal restaurants and market, as well as glow worm cave. Very pleased to have stayed here.”

“Staying here was simply a pleasure! The views are amazing and the cottage is quaint and cozy…but is filled with everything you need to have an easy stay. It’s a close drive to lots of outdoor adventures and beaches too. Biddy is an amazing host!”

“Great spot, very local to all we wanted to do. Homemade bread, bacon & eggs were a enjoyable extra. Only problem was no lighting in the garage and the gas bottle for the bbq was empty, meaning a quick change of dinner plans.”
