“If you just need something very cheap, this might work for you. But it took a very long time to check in even though we had booked and paid already via Expedia. The place is quite run down. The room smelled terribly musty, like it hadn't been used for years. We had to push a window open to air it out, but it didn't help much. It wasn't dirty really, but the floor was cracked, the shower not great, and just really outdated. Based on a note about weekly payments, it seems like this may be a place……

“This was an amazing hotel. This was our first time staying here, and we will be life long guest. Our son is in the army and stationed at Fort Riley, a quick 26 min drive from this hotel. Not to mention all the things to do around the hotel that you can walk to!! Try varsity Donuts for sure , and the restaurant in Bluemont hotel was awesome! There is so much to do. Even though the College campus is across street it was so peaceful and not much street noise at all. The staff at the hotel were all……

“The shampoo and conditioner bottles mounted in the shower were empty! The thermostat was it working in our room! There were homeless people hanging out at the side entrance we used to get to our room! I will not stay there again and will not recommend it to anyone!”

“The entire staff was so nice. Ms T and Brooke were super friendly abd talkative. The front desk lady was very nice as well. The rooms were comfy, clean, and very dark when the blackout shades were drawn. The lobby has tea and lemon water, coffee and mints on hand. The place is small and homey. Breakfast was good Parking is easy. Location is great. I would 100% stay here again. I have nothing bad to say. All places should have a staff as nice as this one does.”

“For $130, I would expect the room to be clean. Bathroom had alot of water damage under the sink on the wall same for around the bath. Sink faucet moved completly over when we turned it on and off. Breakfast was ok, but bread products were definitely not fresh.”

“We normally stay at sonesta when we go to Kansas to see our son (on average we are there for 7 to 9 days equalling over $900.00 usd)that's in the army and normally no issues. This time we had a issue checking in the room, we were told that there was only one person cleaning the entire hotel so we had to wait. Then just to get a simple receipt the gentleman said he doesn't give any only Expedia does. Which that would be the case if we paid Expedia but we paid the hotel we only booked on……

“Unique place on a beautiful property. So peaceful with an amazing view of the lake. A bit confused at first about the seperate suites. We would definitely like to come back and spend more time exploring the area.”

“The first room had terrible mold, we couldn’t be in there for longer than 10 mins without feeling sick. In The second room they provided us we couldn’t sleep well because the ACs fan was loose or something. Mad loud noise all night”

“The staff (night clerk) was very cordial and well mannered. He even dug out a charging cord for my old flip phone that I had unintentionally left at home and also computed a map to a friend's address in Manhattan so I could find his home.”

“The property was undergoing renovations, but still managed to be clean. Al of the amenities were still accessible. Our double queen room was very spacious. Overall it was a pleasant experience that made our weekend trip much more delightful.”
