“A lovely old Hotel with quirky decor, centrally situated in the town and convenient for shops and dining.
Only slight downside was the limited parking which left you unsure of a space if you arrive late in the afternoon or evening. ”
“Poor service upon arrive from girl on reception’s
She had wandered off to the bar to chat. Leaving my elderley parents waiting at reception, calling the hotel and unable to check in until they went to find her. They reported she was rude and unhelpful.
Room was good, comfy beds and nice area. ”
“A fabulous property within the Peak District National Park, serving good food & beer, but also easily accessed from Sheffield too. A short drive from the Ladybower Dam for Dambuster fans & the Snake Pass for those who may enjoy the drive to Glossop & back !”
“This is a lovely old hotel with lots of history attached to it. The location is amazing. Very close to the beautiful Pavilion Gardens, the Crescent, and lots of bars and restaurants. A great place to visit for a short break!”
“We were welcomed and the room was clean and the beds really comfortable, nice walk from the door but also lots of gorgeous quaint villages within short drives. The food was good and no issue with parking at all. ”
“Everything about this place is perfect, the views are breathtaking, the property is incredible, the breakfast was delicious, the staff are fantastic… 10/10, will certainly be coming back”
“Lovely. We will definitely be back. The food was really special as was the wine and service. We paid for the deluxe king room and the bathroom was really lovely my only slight gripe was the room didn’t feel especially roomy or deluxe however the bathroom did make up for this as it was gorgeous. Not a complaint but I think I wouldn’t pay the extra for the deluxe room when I come back which I definitely will be doing. It’s worth it for the food and service alone as well as the beautiful scenery. ”
“Recommended.
Welcoming & comfortable.
We would visit again if in the area.
Advice: Since the property is accessed by country lanes we suggest planning your travel during daylight hours.”
“The staff and owners of the pub were amazing and couldn’t do enough to make our stay good. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The pub is situated in a small village and there is road noise but it’s quiet at night. It’s an incredibly old building so obviously not going to be modern and sparkling new. A nice stay ”
“Very welcoming and friendly. Food was exceptional. Room was clean and had everything we needed. Nice views from the deck. Staff were brilliant. Definitely come back ”
“A definite get away from the world escape, with Peak District walking to Robins Hood stride straight from the front door. Loads of breakfast food choices laid out and a very spacious property to chill in. ”
