The self contained unit is part of a modern 7000 square foot lodge type home. This is best accommodation you could find in the area.
Portage Heights is situated on the hill overlooking Portage Bay. It is an easy 5 min walk from the house to the waterfront.

Please Note No local shop or Store .

Regarding road access, we drive in and out once a week, due to major storms in July 21, and August 22 , local council have put up a sign saying road closed, residents cars only, if driving the Kenepuru Road,please take care and drive to the speed signs.
I recommend driving during daylight hours only. Also, guests can catch the Cougar line water taxi from Picton to Torea 35 dollars per person each way subsidies by the local council,

We can offer free pick up and drop off from water Taxi that leaves from Picton to Torea in the Queen Charlotte Sound.

The Portage Resort is a 10 to 15 min walk and picturesque Queen Charlotte walking track at Torea saddle is a 20 to 25 min walk, this location is the ideal base for your Marlborough Sounds get away.
