Recently renovated and under new property management, Blue Mountain Retreat is relaxing fall, winter, spring or summer. Located in the heart of Laurel Highlands within walking distance to Kooser State Park nestled between Hidden Valley, Seven Springs and Laurel Mountain ski resorts, this family and pet friendly cabin in the woods has everything you need to enjoy an outdoor getaway. Travelers have enjoyed this cozy home in the mountains as a solo rejuvenating escape for 1, a romantic getaway for 2, a family vacation, or a get together with friends/extended family.

Nearby attractions include hiking, biking, skiing, fishing, golfing, star gazing, bird watching, restaurants, spas and more. Enjoy the many trails and ponds nearby at Kooser (2 minute drive), Laurel Hill (7 minute drive) or Forbes (12 minute drive) State Parks. Bike the GAP trail at Rockwood just 15 minutes away. Check out the local resorts for food, golf, spas, ziplines, mountain biking, special events, skiing and more at Hidden Valley (5 minute drive), Seven Springs (17 minute drive), or Laurel Mountain (30 minute drive). Peruse the local towns of Somerset (15 minute drive), Ligonier (30 minute drive) or Ohiopyle (34 minute drive) for restaurants, shopping, white water rafting and trails. Local attractions also include Idlewild, Caddyshack, Living Treasures Animal Park, Laurel Caverns, Jennerstown Speedway, Fort Ligonier and more! Even though you will feel like you are in the middle of the woods in a peaceful setting, if you forget anything a gas station/convenience store is only a 2 minute drive away and a grocery store is only a 20 minute drive away. Once you settle in, you will enjoy a backyard with a picnic table, gas grill, bonfire pit, and hot tub or the spacious kitchen and spa soaker tub in the first floor bathroom. Excellent WiFi service will help you stay connected to friends, family, and work (Gasp! Only if necessary...you should be relaxing!) or allow you to finally binge watch that series you always wanted to see. A variety of games, foosball, and darts will help you stay entertained and unplug from screens too!

3 bedrooms and 2 baths accommodates a maximum of 8 people and 2 well behaved, house trained dogs. There is an additional $30 per night pet fee when fur family joins you at the cabin. Please be sure to check the pet box when booking to pay during your reservation, or you will need to pay it before your arrival.

If you have additional people or pets in your party, please message to inquire about also renting Mountain Grove (with indoor treehouse kid gaming room also accommodating up to 8 people. See VRBO.com/3615517 ) adjacent to Blue Mountain Retreat. Multiple families have enjoyed renting both cabins for relaxing family reunions or birthday celebrations.

The location off of 31 makes it easily accessible year round, but far enough off the road to be peacefully tucked in the woods. A limit of 3 cars per cabin has to be maintained because there is no overflow parking available nearby (AWD or 4WD vehicles during the winter months of snow are required for ease of access). Visitors should be accounted for in your reservation.

Excellent Relaxing Weekend
We stayed 2 nights and had a great time. Everything is as it states in the listing. I lived the repurposing if items in the house and the unique embellishments. The hot tub was perfect to relax in. Host was great ar keeping in touch with us during our stay!

Great place w fun outdoor area!
Clean, well maintained, well stocked w everything for kitchen, grilling etc & even games! The hot tub was new & very clean. Loved the outdoor firepit! Very spacious inside & great to have new washer & dryer to use. Would definitely book it again. Host was very helpful w trip ideas & answering any requests or questions. Kitchen & bathrooms were newly remodeled & very nice. Awesome French door fridge w lots of room for all our provisions!

Blue Mountain Retreat is a winner!
We loved staying at Lisa’s home in the mountains of Somerset. The house was beautiful - updated and very comfortable. Lisa was knowledgeable of the area and communication with her was quick and efficient when we needed to ask her a question about something. The backyard was perfect! The fire pit is spacious and the hot tub was very clean and relaxing. The location was great, too. Kooser state park is basically across the street and provides a beautiful walking path along the lake. Laurel hill state park is a very short drive and was absolutely gorgeous. We also visited Idlewild which was an easy 35 minute drive. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and hope to be back again in the future!

Golf Trip
This is an awesome property! We stayed with 8 guys and slept comfortably with plenty of space to sleep and plenty of space to hang out as a group. The backyard was great with all the amenities. Lisa is amazing! She is extremely thorough and makes sure you have everything you need. Look no further if you have 2 groups wanting play golf at 7 springs and hidden valley!

Lisa went above and beyond helping us to settle into the cabin. She gave us so many wonderful suggestions for fun activities and great food…all within a short drive. July 4th getaway
My family had a wonderful holiday weekend at Blue mountain retreat! Lisa the host was super responsive and helpful. She left a long list of suggestions for the area and there was no shortage on things to do. The house was lovely, well kept, spacious, and pleasantly secluded away without being too far from the major road. I especially love the mudroom because it kept all our outdoor items outside of the main house. Along with my family was my two dogs who enjoyed the space as well. There was plenty of room for them to sniff outdoors and plenty of space to set their crates up within the house. I will definitely recommend this to anyone in the future whether summer, fall, winter, or spring!

Our time at the Blue Mountain Retreat was very pleasant. There was enough space for the 4 of us to hang out and be together but also have our own space. The hot tub worked so well and was located in a nice shady spot off the back door. This is a wonderful spot for a weekend getaway and I would definitely stay there again!

We came down to see falling waters and catch a ballgame in the city. 3 frank lloyd wright houses later and another buccos game later we had a blast. Cabin was comfy even after a 100 degree day! Will look here first mext time we come down!

Great weekend getaway
My friends and I had a great weekend at Blue Mountain Retreat! The hosts were super friendly and made special accommodations to make our stay comfortable. The cabin is spotless with great amenities: hot tub, grill, fire pit, games, and a soaking tub to relax after hiking on the nearby trails! The beds were comfortable and enough room for 6 of us with the 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Great communication by Lisa before, during, and after the stay. 5 stars!

Blue Mt. Retreat
We had a wonderful family weekend with 4 grandkids, their parents, and grandparents. Between the games, hot tub, foosball, and TV, the kids were happily entertained on our one rainy day. The furniture is comfortable, and space was roomy enough for 8 people to comfortably co-exist. The property is across the street from Kooser State Park, great hiking (with lake swimming in the summer). We were lucky to have 60+ degree weather in March, and were able to build a fire and roast marshmallows. The house is also dog friendly. Great weekend, great family memories. Great house, would recommend!
Very clean with all the necessities. Hot tub was great. Host was very responsive. Overall very happy with our stay. Water filter on the fridge didnt work which was not an issue for water because the tap was great but was a bummer for the ice machine. There was ice tray though, a simple extra touch would have been having them full of ice when we arrive so when we realized the ice maker was broken we still had ice instead of having to wait. But super minor thing and the place still definitely gets 5 stars. Would go back for sure.

Family Ski trip
Our stay at the Blue Mountain retreat was perfect! Plenty of space for our group and very close by the Seven Springs resort area where we skied for the two days we were there. The house was very clean upon arrival and the kitchen was well stocked and everything was easy to find. We all loved the hot tub too! Would definitely stay here again!

Great House!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Blue Mountain Retreat. The house was very clean, everything was easy to find, the kitchen had all the necessary things for cooking, the living area was spacious, communication with the owner was prompt, and the house is pet friendly. My kids really enjoyed the hot tub and hanging out at the fire pit. The only negative comment about the backyard is lack of privacy from the house next door, which wasn’t an issue for us since it was not occupied, but might be a consideration for some people. The location was good for driving to Seven Springs (easy 20 minute drive) for skiing and there is a local takeout pizza place close by that was pretty good. Overall it was a perfect house for a ski trip with friends and I would definitely stay there again!

Blue Mountain Retreat was perfect!
My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at Blue Mountain Retreat this past weekend. From the moment we arrived at the property, we were swept up in the ski cabin atmosphere while still enjoying the comforts of a fully modern home. We were very impressed with how close Hidden Valley Ski Resort was from the cabin. We also found Seven Springs and Laurel ski resorts a short, easy drive from the cabin. We were also impressed by the uniqueness of all three ski resorts. We were thankful it was easy to ski at all three, because each offered a unique experience. The Oakhurst Grille was very close to the cabin, and we found the food to be both delicious, varied, and reasonably priced. We also stopped by Giant Eagle, which was close by, and grabbed a few groceries for the cabin's modern kitchen. We utilized both the Kerig and drip coffee makers and found both easy to use and in great condition. We also used the oven and refrigerator, which were both in great condition and user-friendly. The hot tub and wooded yard were huge assets to this property. The hot tub was in perfect working condition. It was hot, and all of the jets were working. We also enjoyed the picnic table and fire-pit area. The cabin was set up remarkably well for skiers. We easily found places to hang our ski clothes and place our ski equipment. We also used the washer and drier since it rained during our visit. We were quickly able to wash and dry everything. The bed was comfortable, and there were a var

Nana’s Winter Weekend
My 7th year taking my 6 grandsons on a winter adventure. We absolutely loved this property. The living space was so comfortable for our group. Adequate bedroom/bathroom for 7 of us. The property was very clean and equipped with everything we could possibly need. Boys loved the hot tub, foosball, darts, and so many games. Lisa was amazing with the reservations and gave us all kinds of info to make sure our trip was successful. The best owner yet. Made such happy memories with my boys.

Amazing!!
Blue Mountain Retreat is a beautiful space. It’s comfortably decorated, and immaculately clean. I spent hours staring at the gorgeous designs on the ceilings and enjoyed the openness of the space. The hot tub felt amazing after long days on the slopes. Cooking was a breeze in the modern kitchen with all the utensils and implements readily available. Thanks for sharing your home with us. We’ll be back!!
