Great place & location!
Loved the home & Gopher the cat. The location of this home was perfect for enjoying the city, many places close by but also easy to navigate to those further away. So glad the owner kept much of the original aspects of this older home. Was a joyous stay! Would stay again.

Home away from home
This is, by far, the most charming and comfortable home we have ever stayed in. The host, Tony, is exceptionally accommodating and friendly. And we LOVE the resident cat, Gopher! We have stayed here before and truly hope to stay here again. It is our home away from home. Thank you, Tony, for a wonderful stay in your beautiful, charming home. We’ll be back soon, I hope!

Beautiful character home
This was our first experience with VRBO. The house is beautiful and roomy. There are a few things that would have made this stay better; the beds and bedding could be drastically improved. The mattresses, pillows, and bedding should be more like hotel quality. We all come from a hotel hospitality background and realize the importance of a good nights sleep. The blankets varied from wool to sleeping blanket style. The towels provided were few (for 5 females) and not matching. The grass was not mowed but Tony did trim the entrance hedges at our request. I would like to suggest that no perfume fragrance be used as that was overpowering upon our entrance. We had to open doors and windows to air the house out. The back deck was well used and enjoyed. We chose this home due to the close proximity to my sisters home. We do travel to Winnipeg often and would consider this home again if the beds etc were improved. Gopher the house cat is a sweetheart and we enjoyed his company. The price was reasonable.

Fantastic
Just want to say that this property was fantastic!! Tony was great and accommodating to all our questions and needs!! It was such a pleasure to stay in your own place with family. Very relaxing, clean and Gopher the cat was great. He is so socialized that if you want him he comes and cuddles. But you also have the option to lock the cat door so he would stay in the basement. The home came equipped with what you would need or forgotten at home. Appliances are up to date. Want to come back in warmer weather when we can enjoy a bbq and the outside. Thanks again Tony and Gopher. Hope to see you again soon.

Nice old house!
Fun to stay at a place that had atmosphere and that was not a cookie cutter type house. The place was nice and cute worked great for our girls weekend. Our only complaint was that we were not informed of the cat. They have an outdoor cat on the property that really wants to be inside, and depending on the guests wishes, is allowed in the house. Due to our cat allergies this made us nervous. We did see cat hair on some of the living room furniture. That was mitigated and we were able to enjoy our stay with out sneezing and eye watering.

Home away from home
Grateful for Tony and his well kept house. There were helpful notes all around so we didn’t have to ask Tony too many questions. Gopher enjoyed the company of our little kids and vice versa. We had access to the first floor and the stairs to the second floor, but not the third floor. We enjoyed playing in the snow in the front yard. Would stay again!

Comfortable, spacious and well located.
A very well equipped kitchen and up to date appliances throughout. The double bed extremely comfortable with firm pillows. The house is ideally located in a quiet neighbourhood which has mature trees along the streets. There is easy access to the city centre. Never a problem to find parking outside on the street. Being in a lovely treed neighbourhood it is a shame that the diffusion panels on all the windows restrict the view outside as well as the incoming light. Television reception was a bit sporadic! Overall a good stay and reasonably priced.

Comfortable and beautiful home close to everything!
We came to Winnipeg to explore the city for a few days and Tony’s house made a comfortable and stylish landing pad. We saw the Museum of Human Rights, the Forks, Lower Fort Garry and the Royal Canadian Mint. It was great to come back to Tony’s place and spread out in all the rooms and spaces available. Tony was super helpful and quick to respond to us. Thanks for rolling out the sunshine for our stay!

Manitoba visit
Murray and I have been renters of this property previously....in fact in July/August 2019, for our Harrison Family Reunion. So we knew where we were going. This time our stay allowed us a chance to visit family and friends whom we had not seen for some time. We were able to cook up meals for us and visitors, and enjoyed sitting out on the back deck with them. We thoroughly enjoyed Buster, the cat, and he seemed happy with us. We appreciate the attention given to our visit, and the comfort of Tony's House. Thank you.

Best-kept secret!
This was by far the best-kept secret! The house was WONDERFUL....full of character and charm....very cozy, and very well-appointed...Close to everything. The owner was very accommodating and we couldn't have asked for a more affordable and comfortable accommodation. Truly a wonderful experience. And we made a new friend with the cat!

Cozy and pet friendly
This adorable house was perfect for our Christmas trip. Traveling with pets can be a challenge but our two dogs felt so at home and relaxed that we were able to not get stressed out either and just enjoy Winnipeg and the snowy calm of evenings with tea and family and a warm fireplace. The home is stocked with all the necessities, even an electric tea pot! We enjoyed the eclectic decor and art! The location is convenient but also quiet and easy to access. We highly recommend!!

Always a great place to stay.
My family of five has stayed at this house twice. It is our favorite place to stay in Winnipeg. Very clean, comfortable, lots of space. The neighborhood is tree lined and quiet. Lots of parking. And it’s not one of those cold, eveything-from-Ikea kind of rentals. This house is the best deal in town.

I loved that it is a house. It has everything you need like dishes and appliances, 5 to ten min drive from downtown and there's a cat named Gopher who is adorable. The only reason id ever stay anywhere else is if this place is already taken.

Great local stay for the whole family!
We were in Winnipeg for a family wedding. Tony’s house easily accommodated 6 adults. The house was exceptional clean and spacious. We enjoyed the company of Gopher, the resident house cat. We only wish the weather could have been a bit warmer so we could have enjoyed the inviting back deck.

Great place for families
My family of 5 stayed here for a long weekend. We loved it. The house is comfy, the decor is really nice. There was lots of street parking in front, and some private parking in back. We enjoyed eating meals on the back porch, and walking the tree lined streets of the neighborhood. The cat who lives there, named Gopher, was a cute, friendly little chub. My 4 year old loved him. We would absolutely stay here again. It was great.

Poor Neighborhood
While visiting Winnipeg with 4 of my girlfriends, we wanted to stay in a safe place and in the description in states that this home is so we booked it. When we arrived, the neighbors that were on drugs were in the process of kicking out one roomate and they were screaming and cussing all day. Two days later there was a complete blockoff around an apartment complex 2 blocks away with the SWAT team and trucks and at least 20 cop cars all over. Overall, the home itself is lovely and clean, but do not trust that it is a safe neighborhood.

Perfect place for our stay
House was clean, rooms were nice, and the neighborhood was a quiet place. The TVs in the living room and the kitchen both don’t work, and that was frustrating, but other than that it was perfect for our stay. The cat was really friendly, and we let him stay upstairs with us all week.

A lovely little house with character!!
We had a wonderful short stay. The house is an older house with lots of character and is well maintained. It is located in an older neighborhood, and we felt the street it is on is cute and safe. Parking is on the street across from the house, but there was never any problem finding a spot. We were there when it was -25ºC, so naturally we didn’t do much sightseeing, but shops (incl. a No Frills) are close by and conveniently located. The owner was also more than helpful and accommodating. This place is definitely recommended when you stay in Winnipeg. It is also well priced for what you get for your money.

Great home away from home
This is a loved home and for our visit it was perfect. It had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable: a shelf full of info for those who are visiting for the first time, laundry facilities, fully equipped kitchen, comfy beds, huge bath towels, even Gopher was the perfect host. Grocery shopping was only a couple of blocks away. We enjoyed sitting in the evening sun on the deck after a day of family and museums. Parking was never a problem on the street and there was room in the back yard had we needed. We both said we would come back if it was available on our next trip home.

Lovely character house
Tony is a friendly and helpful host who strives to make your stay comfortable. We chose the house based on proximity to activities for kids (kildonan park, Assiniboine park, zoo, children’s museum, etc) and the Little Mountain Sportsplex (about a 20 min drive away). In our experience, we found the amenities supplied to be low for the length of our stay. For 8 nights we had 3 rolls of toilet paper, 1 roll of paper towel, 4 dishwashing tabs and 3 face clothes for our family of 4. However, there are many supermarkets close by to restock. Overall we enjoyed the house and the neighborhood.

Perfect location for our family visit. Quiet and clean. Nice back deck with BBQ. Bathrooms on the main floor and upstairs which was a must for my mom who has mobility issues. Washer and dryer was a bonus for our five night stay. Owner replied quickly to any questions we had. We'd definitely stay again.

A Great Stay
Tony's house provided a great 3-week stay in Winnipeg. The house is an older property with some good character traits and is well maintained. It is located in an older, quiet neighborhood that is in the process of being restored. We felt the streets safe, and went on many long walks along the Red River. The three bedrooms made a sleepover for our 4 year old grandchild not only possible but comfortable. The kitchen had enough utensils and appliances to make preparing our own meals a breeze. The large refrigerator allowed us to pre-freeze a batch of smoked pork sausage, the kind that the US east coast has yet to discover. The living room is large and has a nice large-screen TV with limited but adequate options. I had a considerable amount of computer work to do and the sunny office space with computer desk and great wifi was a greatly appreciated amenity. Off-street parking relieved us of the constant tussle of finding inadequate on-street parking. Tony details the proximity to grocery stores in his listing. Don't fail to check out the A l'Epi de Ble ~ French Bakery, a bit more than a short walk north on Main Street, but worth the short drive for authentic French bread and pastries. In the other direction one can spend considerable time at The Forks development which has morphed into a conflagration of bakeries and eclectic eating places. West on Logan one finds Kyu Boche, a small, family-owned Cambodian restaurant with remarkable fare at a reasonable price. Hey, Winnipeg is full of small treasures for the food-inclined! Winnipeg is a cosmopolitan city with a dazzling immigrant and indigenous population that adds charm and cultural wealth. And Tony's property is well-positioned to take advantage of many of them. We loved our stay!

The location of this home is fantastic for our purposes of visiting nearby family. The number of beds and bathrooms were also perfect for our family of five, two adults and three teens. The off-street parking is a miracle allowing us to escape the narrow wintry roads of Winnipeg. The house was clean, clean, clean, clean. Not a spec of dust to be found anywhere. Bath towels were good quality, clean, and a wonderful bath sheet size. Hot water for days! I was worried that we’d never get our teens out of the shower as they are used the water getting cooler as a sign to exit. The home owner is very friendly and eager to please. Gopher. Well, Gopher was a surprise to our family as three of the five of us suffer from cat allergies. Gopher lives in the home and due to our allergies, he resided in the basement for the duration of our stay. He protested quite loudly but his cries were muffled in the bedrooms on the second floor. Perhaps if we had let him out, the infestation of Asian beetles would have been less noticeable. The home owner curiously requested access to the home during our stay and was very insistent on meeting in person prior to our departure. The home has a separate side entrance that is accessible to the main floor via the door to the basement stairs. The home owner was in the basement prior to our check out time which I found to be as odd as Gopher the cat. Needless to say, we were hoping this would become our Winnipeg vacation home for our long weekend visits each year, but alas, Gopher’s presence has quashed those dreams.

The house was very nice. Clean and cozy. Only concern was beds not very comfortable.
Overall enjoyed the stay at house. Found that the beds were quite uncomfortable, could possibly stand to be replaced! The owner was quite nice, quick to come to our rescue when were unable to access house! Tony was very courteous, even offered to lock house car in basement... which was definitely not necessary as was a welcome addition! Only concern was the uneasy feeling we had when owner decided to stay in basement of house during our last night. Not begrudging the owner, but this whole thing was a surprise and took us a bit off guard with his decision. This one incident will not sway us from using this service again in the future!

Great location, excellent value, very accommodating owner!
We just returned from a one week stay at this location in Winnipeg. We were very happy with the home - it was warm and cosy (gas fireplace, too), with comfortable beds, lots of space to spread out, laundry facilities, full size appliances in the kitchen, full pressure hot water in all the taps, fluffy towels, very clean and neat, wifi strong enough to stream movies/shows and very close to downtown. It was a very short drive to The Forks, museums, coffee shops, great food places/restaurants, and the airport is only 20 mins away! The first day we were there we went for a walk to the river - just a few blocks and we were on the river path which led us to a nice playground and park. Having traveled with children it sure was nice to be able to let them play in the fenced yard. I cannot believe anyone would prefer renting a hotel room over this! This is an older home with mixed decor, but I loved its character. And the best part of all was the accommodating owner who graciously dealt with our various requests and went over and above to help us!

Lovely Character Home
Lovely character home. Very clean! Furnished with basic necessities. No TV or Radio if that is important to renters. Location was great...handy to down town Winnipeg and other major visitor attractions. I would rent there again if ever back in Winnipeg.
