Expedia placed both me and my wife in a situation hotel that was not safe for me or convenient for my stay in Amsterdam. When I called Expedia for assistance in the matter the agent gave me the run around. Reset assured I am going let group I know about bad situation that Expedia placed my wife and I into.

Leider konnte man in dem Zimmer das Fenster nicht öffnen. Beim Bezug des Zimmers hat es doch sehr stark nach Marihuana gerochen. Gab auch keine Klimaanlage um es irgendwie mit Frischluft zu versorgen. Der Aufzug ist sehr eng (max. 3 Personen)

Diese unterkunft wahr nicht sauber und die matratze bettdecke waren wirklich sehr eklig, wir hatten ein zimmer mit whirlpool gebucht aber der whirlpool war defekt. Wir hatten unseren hund dabei un den mussten wir immer tragen wenn wir das zimmer verlassen wollten denn es ist unmöglich für hunde diese 10stuffen im zimmer runterzugehen.

This hotel was clean and comfortable and we felt safe inside the entire time. The room was pretty spacious and the bathroom had a shower enclosure, which seems to be pretty rare in older properties. It even had a lift! Luggage storage was convenient and free. The only thing to look out for is that if you need a well-lit room or a property that’s very quiet, you might want to look elsewhere. Even with every single light in the room on, it was very dark. There wasn’t a party vibe in the hotel at all but you could hear people as they walked by your room talking and the floor was a bit creaky and shaky. It didn’t cause a problem for us, but if you need silence, it might not work for you. Otherwise, a comfortable, pleasant stay. Take note that this property is very close to the train station, but it is also in the red light district with some interesting vibes and “scenery” as well as some family unfriendly shops.

Centrally located, staff were extremely helpful and friendly, breakfast was adequate, hotel is old but clean with new showers. Perfect place for us to experience Amsterdam!

Amazing hotel!
This hotel was absolutely amazing! Staff was very accommodating and helped us plan and book our tours! The location is absolutely perfect! Walking distance to hundreds ds of amazing restaurants and bars. The train station. Ferry harbor. And the red light district! 10/10!! Thank you!!!

Good: cheap, very convenient, shockingly quiet for the area, elevator available, bathroom was new and pretty nice. Bad: radiator could not keep up with the near freezing temps outside, spots that looked like mold in the room, layout of the hotel is quite odd where even with the elevator I still had to go up and down several sets of stairs to get to my room.

Einzelzimmer sind sehr laut. Da sind irgendwelche Geräte in der Umgebung 24 stunden im Betrieb, so dass man nicht schlafen kann. Das war für mich gar nicht akzeptable. Die Reception wollte mir auch leider kein Alternative anbieten.

The hotel is located in the city center near all the shopping and dining options you could possibly want. Near the Red Light district, the Central Station, and shopping district. Within easy walking distance of the station, you can catch a tram, bus, ferry, or train anywhere you want to go. Took me a solid 12 minutes to get to the museum area. The staff was awesome at helping me find things to do and navigate the area. They were super friendly and made sure I was comfortable and enjoying myself. This is a older building (circa 1700s) so be aware that it's not a five star place but it was clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend this place for adults planning on enjoying the city center.

Basic Room/Excellent Service
Perfect location close to the main train station; easy to access the train back to the airport. Excellent friendly english speaking front desk staff available 24/7 to assist. Rooms are basic but comfortable. Free breakfast was plentiful. We will stay here again!

Kein Tageslicht, keine frische Luft
Sauberkeit lässt sehr zu wünschen übrig: Haare im Bad, Staubmäuse auf dem Deckenventilator und dreckiger Teppich sind Beispiele. Das schlimmste: Fenster sind nicht zu öffnen, kein Tageslicht, keine frische Luft. Dass die Lüftung auch nicht funktionierte habe ich mehrfach an der Rezeption (mündlich & schriftlich) gemeldet - ohne Reaktion. Das einzig positive: die Lage, mitten in der Altstadt nur ein paar Minuten von Centraal Station.
Hier sollte wohl eigentlich eine Lüftungsvorrichtung sein

We stayed in the "penthouse" suite that has narrow horizontal windows which made it almost impossible to see out. There is also a unique stairway/ladder to get up into the room which made it a little challenging for my wife who has mobility issues. Other than that, it's a very cool/old hotel and the staff were always great to deal with. A little noisy in the evenning, but this is Amsterdam.

Staff was great. Breakfast was great. Room was decent. My only complaint was the room was not set up to handle the high temperatures outside and for us U.S. tourists who are use to central air and refrigeration, it made for a poor night of sleep.

Our first night we were in a room facing the front street. even though a week night it was so noisey we could not sleep. The second night they were nice enough to switch us to a room that did not face the street. This was much better noise wise, however with no AC and no windows that opened it was so hot we barely slept. On the bright side the staff were very helpful as much as they could and the breakfast was very good. Also on the good side, it had an elevator and even though it was very small, was much better than the tiny staircase.
