5/10 (12 reviews)
We were just swinging through on our way to San Francisco and needed a quick place to crash and I didn’t check the reviews first. The hotel was comically bad, with old grime in the windowsills and furniture that looked like it had been found in the street. Bathroom rack was broken, no soap or shampoo or coffee. The floorboards were held together with a sticky tar, and the room had been completely painted over, including the plugs and switches and parts of the door. The guy at the desk was nice enough, but if you were trying to put together “crummy hotel” this is what it would look like. I didn’t see any of the cockroaches, but others were complaining about, and in terms of functionality we were able to sleep, but as others have pointed out, it’s in a terrible neighborhood and even though we came in late, there were shady characters hanging out on walkways and sleeping in cars in the parking lot - definitely the bad side of town. It does seem like people are reviewing these reviews, so if you want to do something about it, even just changing out the plate covers for a few bucks, fixing the broken fixtures and basic general maintenance would really spruce the place up. It was about the same price as a motel six but it didn’t meet that basic standard of a room you would feel comfortable sleeping in.

Very new looking hotel. Beautiful rooms and grounds. Super clean! I loved that they use text messaging to communicate with guests. Our TV wasn’t working so I texted the front desk. We went to dinner and when we returned the TV was fixed! They were awesome!

7.6/10 Good! (1,014 reviews)
Booked 1 week in advance online (normal room). Just needed a clean place to stay one night before a big travel day the following day. Not usually a Karen about things but this was a cleanliness issue so felt it had to be said… Checked in and was given an extended-stay type room on the ground floor designed for accessibility challenges. Front desk staff were really polite and speedy, no issues there. The room itself was the issue. Floor was in okay shape but a little dingy, walls were patched in weird places and the burners on the stove had a crust to them. Room was non smoking but still faintly smelled of cigarettes, the kind that bakes into the wallpaper. No nightstand for the phone in the room so it sat on a 90s folding chair. All this aside the bed was immaculately made and VERY comfortable so I thought “Eh, what the hell. It’s one night.” UNTIL I found 2 very small baby cockroaches that night and another medium sized one near the shower drain the next morning. Also found a hitchhiker on my luggage later in the day after I had checked out. Skip this unless they make some serious changes and clean things up.
