Expedia® Media Director Honored as Working Mother of the Year

  

Elizabeth Dorrance, Media Director, Expedia.comWorking Mother magazine, in partnership with Advertising Women of New York (AWNY), has named Elizabeth Dorrance, Director of Media for Expedia, one of their 2012 Advertising Working Mothers of the Year honoree.

 

For the eight consecutive year, Working Mothers and AWNY searched for outstanding working mothers in advertising, media and communications who radiate a positive influence at work, at home and in the community. Twenty winners were named in three different categories: Established Moms; New-to Motherhood Moms; and Trailblazer Moms.  Elizabeth, a media industry veteran with a 9-year old daughter, Olivia, was selected as a winner in the Established Moms category.

 

Established Moms are working mothers in the advertising community who have attained significant success in both family and career. Their oldest child is between the ages of 7 and 17. These women have been positive influences and strong role models at work and at home. They thrive on their busy lives and have positively impacted other working mothers with their skills at striving for work life balance.

 

Elizabeth Dorrance truly exemplifies what it means to be a successful working mom, continually pouring her heart and soul into the two major aspects of her life – work and family.  She has served as a role model to other women in her community by proving that through hard work, dedication, and sheer love, it is entirely possible to have the best of both worlds.  As a professional woman, Elizabeth worked her way up in the media industry, eventually moving over to the client side as Media Director at Expedia.  Throughout her years in the business, Elizabeth has certainly made her mark.  We are continually impressed by the number of conversations that begin with “Oh!  I remember Elizabeth from…”, and end with fond memories of the impact she left, and continues to leave, on the business.  While excelling at her career, Elizabeth is also the epitome of the loving mother.  When Elizabeth began her journey into motherhood, she chose adoption, opening her heart and home to a child in need.  For a single mom, striking the right balance between work and family can seem like a daunting task, but Elizabeth manages to be completely dedicated to both, making time for recitals, family vacations, and one-on-one time with her daughter.  Looking at Elizabeth and Olivia, it is evident that the bond they share together is truly something special.   Elizabeth Dorrance truly exemplifies what it means to be a successful working mom, continually pouring her heart and soul into the two major aspects of her life – work and family. 

 

Elizabeth was honored at the Advertising Women of New York (AWNY)/Working Mother magazine awards luncheon on February 16th at the Hilton in New York City.
