Time to #PictureMaui
Confession: I am not a winter girl. My skin hates the wind. I don’t look good in a puffy jacket. And I’m too uncoordinated to ski.
Given how brutal winter was for most of the country, I feel confident that I’m in good company (at least this year). Raise your virtual hand if you’re with me and you’re ready to experience the profound joy you can only find when you throw on flip-flops for the first time after winter ends. This year more than ever, those of us who have endured the drama of winter deserve some sand, sun, beaches, and fruity tropical cocktails (with little umbrellas, of course).
At Expedia, we’re just as passionate about travel as all of you so we thought we’d be the first to dip our toes in the hot sand and give you the inspiration you need to plan the perfect getaway to shake of the winter blues. From April 13-20, the entire Expedia Viewfinder blogger family will be visiting one of the world’s top vacation destinations: Maui. From our luxury basecamps—the Fairmont Kea Lani and Grand Wailea—we’ll be sharing our adventures as we explore a favorite island getaway of Expedia’s customers.
We know you’re more than ready for some sun and surf, so we’re making it easy for you to follow along and plan your own trip to Maui. Here’s how:

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then our Expedia Viewfinder team is going to have a lot to say as they discover Maui. Using the hashtag #PictureMaui, our bloggers will be sharing their adventures. Watch Expedia’s social media profiles—Instagram, Facebook, Twitter—and the Expedia Viewfinder blog for inspiring photos and content, showcasing all that the island has to offer.
Destination Maui
Expedia has created a fun space that is dedicated to all things Maui; it’s like a boutique of Maui goodness. The page makes it super easy for you to keep up on Maui-focused blog posts, videos, and social media. More important, it provides you with a simple way to book your own travel to Maui while capturing the savings you’ve come to expect from Expedia.

Wednesday, April 15, will be a first-of-its-kind #ExpediaChat, on location with the *entire* Expedia Viewfinder team tweeting insider tips and gorgeous pics from around Maui. The chat will take place at 2 p.m. EDT/11 a.m. PDT (that’s 8 a.m. HST, for those of you scoring at home). If you’ve been to Maui, get your photos ready; we’ll be asking you to share your favorite pics from the sun-drenched island. Share aloha
Expedia doesn’t think it’s enough for you to just #PictureMaui, we want you to experience in person the warm sun and even warmer spirit of aloha for which Maui is famous. In addition to the cost-saving vacation packages that Expedia always makes available via its website and mobile app, we will be introducing our Share Aloha Instagram sweepstakes following #ExpediaChat on Wednesday, April 15. As part of this contest, Expedia will be giving away two gift certificates for travel to Maui. Start thinking about with whom you would like to “Share Aloha.”
Essay Contest
If you live in Maui County, consider entering the essay contest we are running for students. No matter where you live, be sure to check back in the coming weeks, as we’ll be posting snippets from students’ entries. Participants will be writing about what aloha means to them.
