Posted Jul 20, 2014
Pros: Personable folks, great antiques, good rooms great breakfast!!
Cons: Nothing
Location: In a mountain community. Lots of hiking, elk, bears and friendly folks
Best breakfast, omelets made to perfection. Great hiking and closest to everything in Cloudcroft.

Too rustic for us

Very rustic little inn with nice hosts. Downsides were hard bed, no air conditioning and a hard to use shower. Hosts request that guests do not consume alcohol, FYI.

First stay at a B&B, and it couldn't have been more pleasurable. The room was very comfortable and the experience very personal. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

It was our first time at a bed and breakfast and we plan to stay again next time we pass through! It was very comfortable and the owners are extremely friendly.

Wonderful hosts but place tired

The inn is well located, a short distance from the few shops and restaurants in Cloudcroft. It is a quaint, old building, busily decorated. The rooms are fine, but the bedding could be better: the mattress is the 'bouncy' type, where the lighter partner jumps when the other turns in bed, and the blanket is far too thin. The shower hose in our bedroom was positioned too low - one had to crouch to use it - and delivered only a trickle of water. Our hosts however were charming and the breakfast provided was tasty and copious.

Best Kept Secrets of Southern New Mexico

Posted May 2, 2014 on Hotels.com
What a great discovery. My wife and I were in need of a weekend getaway from the hectic pace of Dallas. I had heard of Cloudcroft from friends. Our selection of The Crofting Inn was by pure chance. ---It was wonderful. Quaint, friendly and wonderful breakfasts. Felt more like a small Inn rather than the often cramped bed and breakfasts popping up everywhere. We will be going back-again and again.
