"Great hotel"
Great hotel, really helpful staff and good location. Caught the hop on bus a block up the street and ate at several of the cafes at the square about 3 blocks away. Would stay here again next time we are in Athens.

"Great boutique hotel near Archeological Museum"
Aeros is not AT the center of Athens. It's about €4-5 taxi ride to the Acropolis and a short walk to the excellent and brand new Subway system that cost €1.6 to Acropolis. I would definitely come back because of the staffs. They are so attentive and friendly as well as accommodating. The cafe also provides excellent hot breakfast from 6-10:30am. The hotel is small but modern and spotless. One general advise abt taxi cabs in Athens. Look at your map to have an idea where you are going and agree on the price before letting them take off. I didn't know this and ended up paying €9 and then €8 for cabs who took the long way. The real price? €4. Or you could save all the hassle and take the subway which I had to take when all the roads were blocked for a marathon. Have fun!!!

"very cost-effective"
The hotel is clean and quiet, close to all important touristic attractions, and has free internet. The personnel of the hotel is very helpful with touristic and any other information. The area is very safe (despite first impression), with a nice and active square right in front of the hotel, with cute outdoor cafes and restaurants.

"Nice enough for a few nights"
When choosing a hotel for my three nights in Athens I wanted to avoid the noisy touristy neighborhoods and the seedy area around Omonia. The Proteus fit the bill and offered a good rate. It is rather a long walk to the nearest metro station, Ambelokipi, and a longer walk to the center of Athens. But I am a walker, so no problem there. The hotel is nice, modern, not too big. The neighborhood is mostly residential. The décor of my room looked like something that belonged in a brothel -- red carpeting and pink furniture, but for a few nights it was fine. The hotel does not offer breakfast but there are cafés, even a Starbucks around the corner. On my next visit to the wonderful city of Athens I wold like to stay somewhere closer.

"Crappy neighborhood, tiny rooms, no English"
I did not feel safe walking the 8 blocks or so from the Omonia metro station to the hotel late at night. streets were deserted except for a couple shady characters. The man behind the desk did not speak English, but was very sweet and helpful. My room was clean and functional but tiny (about the size of the double bed). It would have been hard to do anything but sleep, which was fine for me since I got in late and needed to sleep off the jet lag.

"Hostel price, boutique hotel experience"
Starting from hostel's location: minutes walking from Lycabetus Hill, Sintagma Square and metro station - Bus stop is literally 10 steps away from the door. I am a vintage lover so as soon as I've seem the images on the website I knew I was going to somewhere special - and yes, pictures don't make justice as the place is even more interesting than what the images show. All items have been hand picked by one of the owners, Eva, who also owns a vintage shop down the road - another must to visit - save space on your luggage! Eva, Aris and Stravulla.... Their energy is contagious and their motto is: each guest is treated as if they were guests in their own houses - and it is how it fells! You can share a room or have one for yourself but we all end spending a lot of time in their cosy backyard, normally been served with homemade liquor (which smells like Christmas), fruits and one of Eva's mum baking specialities. The rooms are clean, there are enough bathrooms in the house, the beds are extra comfortable. The value for money is quite unbelievable. I will come back soon! So totally recommended!

    Exarhia, Athens Hotel Guide

Students and artists reside in this bohemian area filled with low-key bars, old-fashioned cafes and down-to-earth tavernas. A hotchpotch of neoclassical buildings and modern concrete apartment blocks line its grid of busy roads and leafy pedestrian side streets. The University lies close by, and the National Archaeological Museum is a 10-minute walk away.
