Was booked into an occupied room. Elevator was out of service and valet was a nightmare, which cost $40. I personally will never stay at this hotel again

Lying about the lofts being the "upgraded"

Posted Jul 10, 2015
Pros: the main hotel's amenities
Cons: advertising the lofts as upgraded
Location: really close to river front mall and aquarium (3 blocks) I recommend going to the cafe du monde in the mall as its closer and less crowded
This hotel is actually 2 separate buildings and the loft (which we stayed in) was supposed to be the "upgraded" side. Well besides the $10 off a day of the already exuberant price of $35 a day for valet and the free wi-fi the actual loft building is actually more like a 2 star hotel with some perks of getting to use the main hotel which was a block away. The a/c in the room we stayed in also started acting up in 95 degree weather, granted they were fairly quick to fix it. I was really disappointed that they have the lofts advertised as their upgraded vip building when the reality of it is the main building has the swimming pool, the bar and kitchen, the snack room, and the better cocktail happy hour. Now you are able to go to the main hotel and take advantage of their amenities and you are able to order room service but it still has to come from the main building and be brought to you which leaves your drink getting to you melted. (you also aren't able to order from the bar in the main building and bring it to your room in the lofts so you have to order room service which costs twice as much of course.) The room was also smaller than the pictures on Expedia look and felt really cramped especially since the windows pointed to brick walls 2 feet away. All in all I do like that the hotel did a nice breakfast and cocktail hour but they shouldn't lie and say it's upgraded when in reality they give you free wifi and discounted valet because the lofts is sub-par.

New Orleans trip

Posted Jul 10, 2015
Location: We were downtown which allowed us to be central to Bourbon Street, Canal Street, French Quarters etc..
We spent 3 days in New Orleans and stayed at the Embassy downtown. The stay was excellent except for the main elevators were being worked on. There were signs informing us of the inconvenience which helped. Loved the food and the atmosphere in the hotel.

Close to everything and clean

Posted Jul 9, 2015
Elevators were not working properly. Had to share service elevators with housekeeping and room service. Also had a problem with room key deactivating. Made the inconvenient trek aboard the service elevators back to hotel lobby and had new keys made, however they new keys failed also. The issue was finally resolve upon the third attempt.

Awesome experience.

Pros: Room size (great), clean, great staff, close to everything.
Embassy Suites was awesome, particularly given it was swarmed by teenage girls volleyball tourney contestants (including us). Had just come from the Omni Riverfront, which would rate a zero, if it went that low.

Disappointing

Posted Jun 24, 2015
Pros: Rooms were clean and comfortable
Cons: Property Managers need to fix current problems
Location: Great location central to museums, theaters, more challenging market and quarter
Broken ice machine, 7 th floor with broken elevators, no cold water, have heard of not enough hot water, but couldn't get cold water-scalding shower. Told taken over by new property managers and they didn't want to fix what was wrong, going to do major renovations. Not what a current guest of the hotel wants to hear trying to get luggage down 7 flights of stairs. Couldn't get room to cool off to a comfortable temp.
