If you are in a pinch

Posted May 19, 2014
Pros: The hotel was clean. It also looked like it was newly renovated which was pleasant.
Cons: The phones in the hotel did not work and it was impossible to find an ice machine or snack machine.
Location: The hotel was inner city and I'm not sure I would want to be walking around the area.
Overall, I have stayed at much better hotels. The staff was friendly. The hotel was clean and organized, the rooms were fine. We booked on Expedia about six months before our stay and the price was right. The phones in the hotel did not work and it was impossible to find an ice machine or snack machine. There was also no elevator. The continental breakfast was fine and the wait staff was friendly and willing to help in any way they could. It was a very basic hotel. There is a pool right in the center of the hotel which is very noisy for everyone. I have been at nicer hotels as a whole.

Very friendly staff

Posted May 14, 2014
Pros: The staff was wonderful, and the rooms were clean. Many of the rooms open onto the indoor pool, which is well taken care of.
Cons: The hotel needs maintenance and some updating.
My first thought when I drove in was ugh, however it was better than my first impression. We originally booked two rooms, and needed 2 more after arrival. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is old and needs work however the rooms were very clean, all four opened onto the indoor pool which was very nice. It is close to many restaurants and shopping, although the hotel itself is in a residential area that is quite rundown and you need to drive to wherever you are going. The expo center is directly across the street so this is a great place to stay if you are heading to an event there. If you are looking for somewhere inexpensive with great staff and clean rooms this is the place, if you are looking for someplace fancy look elsewhere. I would stay here again as the cleanliness and staff are more important to me than the overall appearance.

Read this before booking

Ok, here's the deal with this place: It's not a Marriott or typical hotel you may be used to. It's a run down place/area. The hallway smelled weird and there was hair on the bed. Door connected to pool didn't lock. Beds are small. More than anything the area is not great, don't walk alone at night kind of thing. Pretty sketchy, which I didn't know before booking. The owners seemed to be nice though. They had food in the lobby for guests and were friendly. Bottom line, stay in downtown Springfield if you can, the Sheraton and Marriott look decent. I would not go here again or recommend.

Close hotel, but not what was expected

Posted Mar 3, 2014
I will say that the only good thing about this hotel was its location being a 2 minute drive from where we were going to be for the weekend. When we checked in they had our room wrong - we requested 2 double beds for myself, my wife and our son. They had us down for a king size. Luckily they had 2 doubles left. There is NO ELEVATOR in this hotel. Only narrow staircases to get up to the 2nd level. The door to our room did not close on its own - so you had to be sure that you physically closed it behind you - and there was an inch gap between the door and the frame. The room itself for large in size. The beds were okay comfort wise. The bathroom vanity was new, but the floor tile was cracked and broken throughout almost the entire bathroom. The heat was not on in the room when we got there and being that the outside temperature was only 17 degrees you can imagine how cold that room was. Once the room did heat up, it was difficult to get it to a comfortable temperature - there was no happy medium. It was either too hot or too cold. There is an indoor pool, but the room it is in is not heated so the water was less than tolerable. They also do not have extra pool towels - so you have to take a towel from your room and then wait for the man to bring you up dry ones. For a one night stay - it could have been better, but lesson learned for our stay next year - we'll drive the 7 minutes down the road to a different hotel.

One night in Agawam

Posted Feb 25, 2014
Pros: It was close to the facilities that we had to visit. The breakfast in the morning was very good.
Cons: There was only ONE small bar of soap in the bathroom, there was no telephone in the room, the hairdryer did not work. A TV channel directory is needed
Location: Right across the street from the Eastern States exposition.
The regency is dated. But the accommodations were acceptable.

Great hotel, hospitality and location

Posted Feb 24, 2014
Pros: Its convenient location to the Big E; the great hospitality extended by the staff; having on-site access to an in-door pool and exercise room.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: Almost directly across the street from the Big E. Great restaurants within the area and close to shopping mall.
I found my recent stay at the Regency Inn & Suites to be a highly enjoyable one. From check-in to check-out time, the entire staff was attentive to my needs and comfort. They were highly efficient and very pleasant at all times. I was in W. Springfield to attend the Sportsmen's Show at the Big E. Considering that the RI&S is located within close proximity to the Big E, it was a highly convenient place to lodge. They provided a great continental breakfast and their indoor pool and exercise rooms contributed to an enjoyable hotel experience. CG Dover, NH
