My family and friends have been getting together to go hunting every Thanksgiving weekend for the last 12 years and this is by far the best place we've ever stayed. “We loved the cabin and enjoyed our stay. The wood burning stove kept the cabin warm despite it being the middle of February. The property is beautiful with the river steps away. We're already planning on going back later this year and taking advantage of the canoes.”

“Cute cabin, my nieces enjoyed the loft area. I just don't understand why they charge a large cleaning fee then ask the guests to wash & put away all dishes, round up all the towels and put them in the tub and strip the beds & pillows. Taking out the trash and cleaning your items from the refrigerator I get, but not the other stuff...unless you cut down the cleaning fee!”

“My Dad’s funeral was today. My parents have lived on Houghton Lake for 20 years, but we decided to rent from this host to free up room in their house for other guests. Property was immaculate, every amenity one might forget was available at the property, and they left an amazing apple/ caramel pie for us. There is a fire pit in the fenced in yard and wood is provided. They even allowed us to extend our stay way past the normal checkout time as I requested based on the timing of the funeral. I……

“Arrived at the property in the wee hours of the morning. Almost pitch black, I couldn’t find the lockbox. Thinking that the box was on the outside of the house, walked around for a hood twenty minutes before realizing that the box might be inside the house. That was keystone cop moment. This is not a negative review, but a learning experience for me. Next time, arrive when it’s daylight. Otherwise, it was a positive experience. The property was well maintained.
