“This is a lovely hotel, situated a 10 minute drive off the A69, and easy driving distance to Hexham, Corbridge, as well as Cumbria and further reaches of Northumberland. Excellent hotel for walkers. The hotel has no lift, so if you struggle with mobility I would strongly recommend contacting the hotel prior to visit, and they can put you in a room just off the car park (accessable via a small ramp). Nice food, pleasant staff. ”

“Beautiful spacious room touch of luxury with decor soaps and shampoo, Bed very comfortable. We were served drink from a lovely young lad who was very attentive. Evening meal was delicious but maybe slightly overpriced. Didn’t have breakfast. Enjoyed our stay. ”

“Beautiful historic hotel full of character and within 5-8min walk from the train station. Staff is very friendly, welcoming and super helpful. Bedrooms are very comfortable, warm and clean. Breakfast is delicious and plentiful. I had a lovely stay and will stay there again if/when I come back to Penrith.”

“We booked last minute as we were tired with still a long way to drive home. We were welcomed by the owners and got our key quickly. They said they had only owned the hotel about a year and were gradually doing it up. The bar is listed and absolutely beautiful. Our room had everything we needed after a quick shower we had a great sleep. Breakfast was included in the great price and was top class. Hopefully we'll wander that way again and would definitely stay at the station hotel again. ”

“The Bowes Hotel is a lovely hotel and pub in a small village near Hadrian's Wall. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was clean, fresh, and renovated within last 5 years. My friend stated if she could pack the bathroom in her suitcase and take it home she would! And, we had a lovely view of their garden. Would definitely stay there again. ”
