The had not been dusted,No drawers to put clothes in, Not enough coat hangers, Waited over an hour for water to the dinner table, The woman that was front of house host in the dining room, Did not help the other two members of staff that one was on her second shift and the other was there second week, For being a five star hotel the standard is very poor, The two staff were run off there feet, When the front of house host stood around a lot, I have stayed in places that management helped the other staff out, We did get a room change due to the noise on the first night, Second room was better, I would not stay in the hotel again,

Staff were friendly and gave us a good larger than expected room on arrival which was good. The hotwl is positioned in a very peaceful area. We had a room on the ground floor at the back so there was no road noise but lots of noise late at night when other guests were arriving to their rooms. Walls/floors are thin! The water coming out of the taps and toilet was yellow..not sure why. Bottles of yellow tap water were being served to customers. The menu was not to our taste far too much spicy food. I had to send the corn on the cob back as it was covered in spice. We were then brought a new plain one and were not charged which was good. Can't comment on the cooked breakfast as we only had fruit/continental options.

It’s…fine. It is a stunning building as reflected in the exterior photos, and the downstairs interior has some beautiful rooms. That said - the more you look, the more you see signs that the property is well due for renovation. The room itself was okay, but far from spectacular and clearly lacked attention to detail. The bed was comfortable and king size as advertised. However, while two king single size beds pushed together to make a full-size king is not uncommon, in this case the mattresses were somehow different heights; so one bed was noticeably lower than the other. There was no guest book/information folder that would normally contain a room service menu and information about the hotel. When I queried this with the staff I was advised this is normal. It’s also worth noting that the hotel does not have a laundry service despite it being advertised on Expedia. The drain cover in the shower was broken, and a wardrobe cupboard door impacted the main door closing arm mechanism every time you opened it. Just small details were absent like the information folder, saucers for cups, body wash but no shampoo or conditioner. The room was also showing signs of needing maintenance such as painting touchups that had been started but not finished, so parts of walls were different colours and other sections were noticeably chipped and scuffed. The bar area had a notable unpleasant smell, though Ola’s service was great. We ended up leaving a day early and accepting no refund.
