Second visit - not disappointed

Posted Dec 27, 2017
We visited The Verandah a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it. The staff are really friendly and they made us feel at home. Plenty of choice of places within the resort to eat and the 2 beaches are nice.

Resort with good facilities and excellent location

Posted Dec 9, 2017
Pros: see above
Cons: see above
Location: see above
We thought our stay was very good. We thought the Wi-Fi facilities in room were very expensive, and unnecessary to charge so much. We were a last minute booking because of the devastation in Dominica; and normally expect the opportunity for greater activities. We were very pleased with what we had, with mini golf sailing etc.

Thanks mark for your feedback. The Wi-Fi in Antigua has to be upgraded island wide as they are a bit behind that technology - believe me just having it available has been difficult for many islands in the Caribbean. I am glad you enjoyed yourself and I do hope you can get the chance to experience the island of Dominica as it is a unique island in the caribbean

Everything’s Irie In Antigua

Posted Dec 8, 2017
All of the staff were very friendly & accommodating, and made our celebration of our anniversary vacation a memorable one from the moment we checked in with a Champagne Toast & Song, along with seeing the fabulous view from our room. Many Thanks for everything!

Nice place

Posted Nov 25, 2017
Lovely comfortable place, lovely beach, staff need improvement, sometimes rude and unhelpful, no atm facilities, although all inclusive some activities are not chargeable to the room and wont accept credit cards so if you dont have cash then its a $50 taxi to town for an atm. Otherwise not to bad

Beautiful resort

Posted Nov 22, 2017
Pros: The individual bungalows and the beaches
Cons: Rooms could use a fresh coat of paint.
Location: Situated on 2 coves, so loads of water activities. Can walk to nearby Long Beach, and Devils Bridge
Just returned from 1 week at the Verandah. The resort is beautiful and landscaped perfectly. On of the reasons I picked the Verandah, was the bungalow theme. All bungalows are duplexes, with large balconies. We were in an oceanfront room, and the view was perfect. The rooms itself could use a fresh coat of bright and light paint, but are clean. They have a small kitchenette, but not sure as to why, since you are prohibited from taking any food out of the restaurants. Since the resort is comprised of these bungalows, be prepared to walk quite a distance to get to the beaches and restaurants, but there are occasional golf cart shuttles going by, and you can hitch a ride with them. The 2 beaches are gorgeous and plenty of watersports. There are 4 restaurants, and all were nice, especially Nicole's (which does have an upcharge). Staff are all friendly as well. All in all, a great, relaxing experience!

Hotel pictues on their website are deceitful

Posted Nov 15, 2017
Don''t expect the experience shown on pictures and website, the hotel is not terrible - the grounds are beautiful and the beach is glorious. However the rooms do not offer any differentiated confort as the website and some other reviews suggest.

Seaview Double

Posted Nov 14, 2017
Pros: Friendly staff Daytime activities
Cons: There was not much communication between the Reception desk and Guest services i.e. late checkout
Location: It's about a half hour taxi (around $75 USD return) to the St. Johns area, Shell Beach (D Boat), Neilsons Dockyard.
My partner and I visited here last week - the resort is lovely and the staff were so friendly. We originally booked a Hillside view, but were upgraded to a Seaview upon arrival. Beach and main pool all within good distance - and golf shuttles available if not. Food was great, with a good variety changing everyday.

Nice hotel with great choice of beach or pool

Posted Aug 25, 2017
Pros: The food, the drinks, the beach with its various activities, the entertainment, the friendly staff
Cons: The golf carts, which is the key mode of transportation, could be a bit more present so that the transportation wait would be less.
Location: The location is approximately 20-30 mins from the town. The main thing we did was swim with the stingrays.
We arrived before the official check-in time but our luggage was accommodated and we were escorted to one of the restaurants for lunch until our room was ready. The meals at the seabreeze restaurant, where we had most of our meals were fine, tasty and varied. The abundance of drinks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic was superb. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, we had two kids with us. The hotel is very children-oriented - with a building, play park and pool, among other things dedicated to children. There were also daily events that could keep the kids occupied. The nightly entertainment, especially the live bands rounded out a day's activities.
