Tranquil Bush Living- on the 'Fringe of Heaven'

Located in an elevated position on the southern end of the Waitakere ranges, this quiet location provides easy access to the many walking tracks in the area. Walk to the Arataki Visitor Centre along a picturesque bush trail, or walk in to Titirangi along the historic pipe line track.

Titirangi village includes cafes, shops and and an art gallery. Good bus and train links throughout Auckland.

West coast beaches are a short 30 mins drive away.

Stays of 7+ nights automatically receive a 10% discount. Stays of 28+ nights automatically receive a 15% discount.

A good sized main bedroom includes one Queen sized bed, side tables, chest of drawers and a wardrobe. The second bedroom includes two single bed with side tables. A third area has two single beds that can be joined to make a king sized bed. This area can be screened off and make room for two more people to sleep.
The dinning area has lovely bush views for you to enjoy.

The kitchenette includes an induction hob, small electric oven, dishwasher, microwave, electric fry pan, good sized fridge and freezer drawer, coffee machine, sandwich maker, toaster and jug. Pots, pans, cutlery, dinnerware, cups, glasses, etc are all included. There are also basic pantry supplies available.

The living area includes a 2 seater sofa , and occasional chairs, coffee table, T.V and stereo.

The bathroom includes a shower, heated towel rail, vanity and washing machine. Towels are also provided.

There is a heat pump in the main bedroom and one located in the main part of the house.

There is a separate toilet.

The house is filled with a large assortment of books for you to enjoy during your stay.

There is an outdoor sitting area with BBQ, for you to enjoy and a trampoline and swings that children are welcome to use.

Great value well located homely accommodation

Stayed for 10 nights and found the house homely and welcoming.Not as far away from the Titirangi Village and Huia/Whatipu as we expected, but your own transport is recommended as the hosts stated. 100% score for location to some popular local walks.Some small improvements would enhance the experience:Check and repair the appliances: microwave display wasn’t working properly and toaster would jam the toast (which I repaired).Tidy up the outside, bit of an waterblast would do wonders and clean weeds from garage guttering. Couldn’t use the small deck outside the lounge until I removed the wasp nest (small job, no drama).Stocktake the fridge, as most of the items were well past expiry date (like the dairy in Titirangi Village) and these goods may have been left by previous guests.Having a small of coffee and sugar for guests would be nice. Travelling on a rainy public holiday, we had to take a trip back out to buy tea, coffee and sugar.Bed comfort is subjective but we found the beds not that comfortable or supportive.In spite of the small things above we had great time in Titirangi in this property, hosts were pleasant and available when needed, but like them, prefer not to invade their privacy unless absolutely necessary.Would we stay again? Definitely, rustic and homely, great value, well located.

roomy and peaceful

We loved this property. We stayed for the weekend to attend a wedding nearby. The location was excellent - quiet and peaceful but handy to the Titirangi shops and other amenities. The property was bigger than we were expecting with two lounge spaces. While being more on the rustic side, it was also clean, tidy and really well equipped - especially the kitchen. Thanks for a great stay!

Beautiful spot

Loved this place. My partner and I stayed here for a month when we were in town with work and would happily have stayed longer. It's a great house in a beautiful spot, very peaceful and private. The house has everything you need and the hosts were very responsive whilst also leaving us to ourselves. There's great walking tracks on the doorstep and overall it is fantastic place to relax and spend time. Hope to be back again!

Skye’s Rest

Skye’s Rest is a wonderful place to stay. It isn’t fancy, but it is very clean and very comfortable. It is a bit of a drive from the city, but the forest walks that start right from the door are great. It is quiet, except for bird song, and the occasional car or walkers going up to the trail head and our host, Jason, was extremely helpful with information about the area. We will gladly return there at the earliest opportunity.
