Poppies, Baston, Lincolnshire. The whole of the field between King Street and the Baston Fields housing estate was ablaze with colour during summer 2005. – Opium poppies (Papaver somniferum) in the foreground and more red poppies (Papaver sp., likely P. rhoeas) in the background; this field was maybe used for opium poppy production in the year before, and was left fallow in 2005.

Church of England parish church of St John the Baptist, Baston, Lincolnshire. Most of the building is Perpendicular Gothic but the chancel was rebuilt in about 1860.
Baston Fen Nature Reserve. Part of the Baston Fen Nature Reserve, which aims to maintain this fen as it would have been before drainage took place. Therefore it is a wetland habitat home to a large number of birds. Taken from the floodbank of the River Glen.

The room was not booked with a dog even that was requested at Hotels.com. The friendly recpetionist organised a room for me and my dog, but it was £20 more expensive, There was a dog charhe of 35£ instead of 25£ as on the website. I did get a room looking at a wall and it was so intensly smelling ...

Good facilities and large rooms. Very noisy - the building seems to attract alot of youngsters wanting parties etc, so not ideal for a business trip. I also wouldn't recommend it for a lone female traveller - there were some undesirable characters around.
