The Local Area
Tyr Hydref is just a short walk from Beaumaris town centre, passing the Central Bakery (a must visit for freshly baked goods). The crown jewel of the town is Beaumaris Castle (A Unesco world heritage site) and a visit to Beaumaris isn't complete without an ice cream on the pier, from where a boat trip to see the bird life around Puffin Island is a very popular outing. Penmon Lighthouse is a short drive away and is a well-known spot for watching the amazing Northern Lights when weather allows.

Lovely cottage but,not for the elderly

The cottage was situated very near to Beaumaris Spotlessy clean and every comfort provided.Bedding, linen etc excellent However not for the elderly,.The toilet is downstairs and since the cottage is 300 years old the stairs are very steep and the door entrances on the short side.Car Parking for large vehicles a little restricted. But for the not so elderly a great place to stay

8/10 Good

Ty Hydref

We stayed here exactly one year earlier, so it was very pleasant to walk in to surroundings we remembered well. Everything was as it was, including, and this is our only gripe….the shower head. It really does require replacing and I think we said the same last year. It’s a brilliant jet etc, don’t get me wrong. The trouble is it starts off by spraying the floor until one can prop it in to position with the handy scraper. Ultimately, your floor will suffer. Enough said. It was a great stay. The proximity to the centre is wonderful. Quiet, despite the occasional traffic, which in summer may be a lot busier. We do recommend this property to friends, but those like us, who can happily live in a ‘cosy’ space. Thank you. A great week.
