ABOUT THE COTTAGE
A quiet comfortable self-contained cottage. It has a reverse cycle air-conditioner, super comfortable king size hardwood bed and a good size timber verandah nestled under a big mango tree looking north to the Dorrigo range across the Bellingen Valley & mountain views.


ABOUT HOSTS
I am an artist, a painter/potter I have a studio next to our home. I have a delightful 9 year old daughter called Minh-Chau.

As your hosts we would like to ensure your stay in the area is enjoyable. If we can provide any assistance, our pole house is only 50 metres from the cottage so please give us a bell or come to our home if you need information or anything and we will do our best to help.

LOCATION
Potters Cottage is located at 8 Short Street Lane, Bellingen. It is a quiet, comfortable and fully equipped space with a good size verandah under a large old mango tree looking north past the studio to the Dorrigo ranges and Bellingen Valley. The cottage is just a minute's walk to town centre where you will find cafes, restaurants and boutique shopping. There is also a great Alternative Book shop. The property fronts the river park which is just a five minute walk to the Bellinger River. The park has picnic areas, swimming spots and more gorgeous views.

The cottage is a 20 minute drive to the Dorrigo World Heritage National Park Rainforest and only a 15 minute drive to the spectacular Never Never River in the Promised Land and is also close to Darkwood where the Bellinger flows. Urunga is a 15 minute drive where you will find beautiful quiet beaches and a boardwalk at the mouth of the Kalang and Bellinger rivers.

Bellingen is about 30 minutes drive south of Coffs Harbour airport, and about a 10 minute drive off the Pacific Highway along Waterfall Way.

ABOUT BELLINGEN
Bellingen is an interesting town, famous for its many musical festivals and cultural-arts events.

The monthly community market is also a highlight and is held on the third Saturday of each month The growers market is held every Saturday at the showground whilst the farmers market takes place each Wednesday on the south side of town.

Bellingen treehouse vibes

Great little hideaway just behind Main Street . A cute little nest a bit like a treehouse, so glad for air conditioning as we arrived to a heat wave ! Overall good for a short stay.

Piece of tranquility in the middle of town

Beautifully appointed cabin in the centre of town, yet tucked away from the tourist bustle. So many things to see around the town...highly recommend the waterholes! John was very welcoming and friendly. We will definitely be back and highly recommend!

Clean and super well located in town. Some aspects of decor could do with updating but it is a pleasant, welcoming and comfortable place . Everything is clean and works well and we enjoyed our 2 night stay- pity more eateries not open in town - .winter?

Compact apartment in the heart of town.

Ideal for a couple this place is private, well appointed and comfortable. Just a short stroll to all the fabulous eateries in town, or stay in and cook your own meal and sit outside on the deck overlooking the valley. Also an ideal location to go exploring the National Parks and waterfalls near Bellingen which is a must.

Lovely Cozy Treehouse

We had a wonderful five day stay in John's Cabin, embraced by a cool and leafy mango tree. So conveniently located close to town, yet quiet and serene. Watching all the birds and lizards going about their business right next to us. We will be back!

Hidden gem

We had a wonderful 4-night stay at John's cottage. It is located just steps away from the main street so we were delighted to find a pasture with horses, cattle and birds just a few minutes away, leading to the river and bridge. Sitting on the deck under the mango tree was very restful, watching the lizards and birds, and listening to nature. It is a quaint yet comfortable place with everything we needed and John is a friendly host. If we are lucky enough to return to Bellingen, we'll be returning to John's cottage.

A peaceful retreat in the tree top

We had such a lovely stay here for three nights. You couldn't guess what is hiding behind the gate on a lane back from the main street. John is a wonderful host and welcomed us on a warm evening. He had opened it up and we stepped into a cool interior with its deck sitting amid a big ole mango tree top. You felt a world away yet everything is only a few steps away. The bed is very comfortable and you have all you need to cook if you feel in the mood. The bathroom is modern and well appointed. Lots of restaurant options if you are wanting to eat out. Highly recommend the Japanese a short walk away as well as the Brewery hidden behind No 5 on Church Street-entry via the car park on Short St. Would love to come back. Thank you John
