"Traveled from North Devon to see family in Carlisle, luckily we couldnt get into anywhere in Carlisle, and we found this which was about 10 miles away. The new owner of 3 weeks was on reception, he was lovely and couldn't be more helpful. The room and bathroom spotlessly clean. The barman was lovely and the bar well stocked. There was no breakfast available because of only being there 3 weeks, but were doing evening meals."

"Really enjoyed our stay. Staff were all first class, and the ambiance was excellent. Only small downside was the noise in our bedroom from the heating system which didn’t stop until quite late. Nevertheless, still very enjoyable stay, and will come back"

"My room was clean and tidy when I arrived. The lady on reception was very helpful and efficient when I checked in. On leaving the next morning the two staff were again very pleasant even though it was 3.30am."

"Great location at the heart of Carlisle and close to cathedral and castle, perfect for sightseeing. Lovely to stay in a historic hotel that’s beautifully maintained and looked after. Gorgeous high ceilings, stained glass, marble and wood panelling, so much better than modern hotels where everything is plastic. Perfect for a weekend break."
