Overall great mini vacation for the price.
We really had a great time, location was great, house had nearly everything and everything you could imagine. We loved the big inflatable island attached to the dock and spent most of our time there. Rooms were large. We appreciated being able to wash towels one night as there were newer washer dryer set and detergent. We had a family of deer come to the front yard one morning. Every kind of pot and pan you could imagine in the kitchen, 2 types of coffee machines for both pods and ground coffee, cups, dishes, silverware and all the cooking utensils, aluminum foil, cling wrap and a dual oven…but NO oven mitt. Had to use the the kitchen towel. And there were no extra kitchen trash bags. Had to go to the HEB 15 minutes away. Inside of house was super clean and tidy but the backyard had empty cans and water bottles, and used fishing line on the back porch. My daughter tried to use the jet tub and about 100 pieces of mold came shooting out into her bathtub so that was an no go. Only other complaint was the itchy sheets in the master bed. Mattress itself was super comfy but those sheets need to be replaced. We appreciated that Vacasa who manages the property was very responsive before and after our trip but during we didn’t get great response. Overall we had a blast and for the price we paid, I think it was definitely worth it. But if prices went up we probably would look elsewhere for next summer. Fingers crossed!

Great location
Family had a great time, clean and great spot on the lake. Beds were comfy, pillows not so much. Ladder on swim dock is unstable, needs replaced. TVs in all rooms with dish, little tricky to figure out, it was not as listed in the binder. Would definitely stay again, relaxing and quiet area.

Weekend for 2
My husband and I enjoyed our stay. We kayaked, fished, and sat on the porch and enjoyed the view. We had everything we needed. The home was clean and comfortable. We plan to be return in the future.

Wonderful place
Area's Retreat is wonderful! Very clean, comfortable and plenty of room. Great parking. We love that this house is on the upper quieter end of the lake. We spent most of our time on the back porch with a view of the water. The boat lift was a huge bonus and worked well. The boat ramp is just down the street and super close (it is tiny though and a $20 fee). We loved that we could bring our dogs and the whole backyard was fenced. If you swim off the dock, the ladder is not great. And the wifi was so bad that we had better service not using it. We spent more time looking at the views than our phones anyway. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful location
Lovely little house, with more an enough space. Beautiful sunsets, calm waters, and nice location. Internet was really slow and had a hard time streaming anything.

Loved staying here, great location, great views. Comfortable beds. The floors were a little dirty, and dust on picture frames etc. Kitchen was well supplied. No firewood or starter for fire pit. But overall a great stay, will stay again!

The property was great. Very clean and well stocked. The lift worked well. Master bedroom mattress was extremely soft, so my hubby and I slept in the other beds. They were firmer. Dealing with Vacasa was terrible. Somehow I or the system shorted me a day when I made the reservation. As soon as I received the confirmation, I submitted the change request. It was less than 24 hours when I requested. But it took them two days to respond. By then I couldn't cancel without losing 50%. They wanted to charge me double the amount of the other days. I went back and forth trying to explain, but they said prices change and they couldn't do anything. I finally just gave up and added the day. It was either that, shorten our stay, or lose 50%. I know they can control prices, I've rented through VRBO multiple times. Then to top it off, a few days later I get an email from them asking me to extended it another day for half the price of my original price!! Won't deal with them again. I tried to locate owner to let them know. But couldn't find a name. I hope they read this. It is no way to treat customers!

Amazing!
This is our second stay in this property and had a great time! It's perfect for a family and pets. The kitchen has everything you need. There is plenty of outdoor space with an enclosed backyard so your pets can be off leash. The water mat, kayaks, and life vests that are available are a great bonus!

Great place for girls trip!
6 of us all came together for a nice relaxing weekend and that’s exactly what we had. House was comfortable and completely stocked with everything needed! King bed is soft, queen bed is firm, bottom bunk is soft and top bunk is firm. Overall everyone slept comfortably. Be careful floating and swimming by the rocks. They are covered in mussels and I sliced my knee and hand up pretty badly. Enter and exit the water via the ladder on the dock. Homeowners should definitely do something about the mussel situation and install a safer ladder on the dock. Property was perfection other than that.

30 minute drive to almost any restaurant, store, etc. Only one country store and restaurant nearby.
House is dark, but was clean. Hangars and tissues need to be provided. Master Bed was very uncomfortable. View lovely and the area is very quiet. Otherwise, everything was fine. We enjoyed the geese and goslings.

Dog-friendly property - responsive manager
The fenced yard was amazing for our dog - and of course the view was wonderful! We spent a lot of time just sitting outside and watching boats go by. The property manager was very responsive when I had questions.

Property is great. Very clean and we had regular check ins via text with property management. If you stay you have to check out Reverend Jim’s Damn Pub, best burgers hands down! It’s a nice drive and only about 15 mins away. Nice winery right before the entrance and inks lake state park is just right down the road. Only complaints are there are always sooo many stickers in the yard and the zebra muscles have now made it in the lake and they are covering the rocks making it very painful to sit in in the water / maneuver on. Easy access to get in the water if you stay next to the sea wall eddy, again to watch out for the stickers while your holding the wall. Fenced yard is great for the dog as we never had to worry about and dogs wandering up.

Great Lake house stay
This property was nice, clean house the met all of our expectations. We enjoyed the waterfront lot and the outdoor space this house offered. The house was very clean and everything worked as expected. We wasted some time fiddling with the lockbox out front before realizing that the front door has a built in Digital code that worked perfectly. Great overall stay and exactly as nice as advertised!

Sweet Escape & Backyard Bliss
This beautiful home offered the perfect views conveniently from the back porch and easy access to all of our favorite water activities: fishing, kayaking, and swimming. We enjoyed fishing from the dock, loading the kayaks from the bank, sitting on the porch and watching the sun go down, and just sitting near the water taking in the sun. Outside of the water sports taking place throughout the day, the location was very quiet and perfectly distanced from the homes nearby. We look forward to visiting again. The only negative we experienced is the slow wifi. This was meant to be an escape from our everyday life so I am not bothered by it, but someone who needs to work from here or even watch tv on the provided Roku stick TV’s will have difficulty with the constant loading.

Fantastic stay
The property manager Melissa was very communicative and made herself available to us. The property is unique and fantastic, just as pictured and described. The home was very clean and provided all of the essentials to cook and clean. The kitchen is equipped with a Kurig and traditional coffee pot- don’t forget to bring the coffee! But no worries if you do, HEB is a quick 15 minute ride down the road along with most everything else you’d need. Perisso’s winery is a short 3 minute drive and their cab is delicious. We hope to visit again very soon! Thanks for having us.

We had the most wonderful time! It was so peaceful and we loved watching the sunsets over the ridge. We had so much fun kayaking and swimming on the lily pad. It was perfect for the dogs and our kids too. The house was stocked with everything we needed, and we would love to come back again. Highly recommend!

Family Get Away
This property was perfect for our family get-away. The dock was great for fishing. Grandkids caught a few. Having the kayak and lily pad available provided a lot of fun. The adults got to enjoy the lily pad, too. The house was in great shape and we had no issues at all. Only downside was the lack of shade in the late afternoon. Of course it was August, one of the hottest months, so we spent this time indoors. The backyard was fenced on both sides, so we had no issues with our dogs. They were in heaven!

Our dog had the best time. The yard is fenced in and the flooring was in the home was great for pets. Only complaints were 1. WiFi not great. Ok if you are on vacation but not if you need to do work. 2. The cleanliness could have been better especially during a pandemic.

Nice accommodations. Plenty of room. Easy access to water. One suggestion: Please provide sponges/scrubbers/dish rags to make kitchen clean up easier. We only had a few dish towels. Also to renters: Watch our for the goose poo on the sidewalk. :)

Ok Property, Terrible Property Management
I'd caution anyone to book a property where the property owner is listed as Vacasa. This is yet another property mgmt company and they were horrible. The wait time on the phone was hours (no joking...wait time was 3+ hours). When we experienced trouble at the property, we lost 1/2 day of boating time on the lake because no one responded to our issue (boat lift was broken). The house itself was nice. A bit outdated, but nice and clean. The lake access, however, was quite bad & this was the whole reason we rented this house. The dock steps didn't reach down far enough into the water and so you had to exit the lake by climbing on the moss covered rocks. Several of us fell a few times. Someone is going to fall and really get hurt. DO NOT rent this place if you have young children. They'll get seriously injured on the rocks. It was extremely dangerous. The boat lift also wasn't being maintained. So, we raised our boat and the lift wouldn't lower. We lost 1/2 day in boating time. The property mgmt company did compensate us for that, but the money simply doesn't make up for the lost time with family, especially now when escape from the pandemic is so precious. I probably won't rent this property again. I DEFINITELY won't ever rent a property that's managed by Vacasa.

Great location
Its a very nice home in a great location. Enjoyed many sunsets from the porch. Only two things to note: it's extremely difficult to get kayaks in the water, lots of big rocks near the shore. You need someone to stay on shore to help getting them people and kayaks in and out. We were disappointed about that. Also, the bed in the master is super old and sags in the middle. Needs replacing.

Great Getaway!
A fun getaway with plenty of outdoor space for dogs to run around and activities to keep you busy. The house was clean and the kitchen was organized and stocked with plenty of utensils for making meals. The kayaks were a nice addition! Will be revisiting in the future!

Things that can be easily improved.
Light bulbs out, and just hasn’t been kept clean. Spiderwebs and dead bugs. Then it talked about the dock was there for our use but their jet skis where there. Was the main reason we pick that place over others. That’s why I said could be easily improved. One line of text saying that the ski slips are not for guest use and some one to clean. Then would be 5 stars all the way down.

Great Getaway for Family
The renting process was so easy. Our trip was very last minute (within a week). The owners were very responsive and the instructions provided were very clear. This house was great for my family. We had a private dock to fish which was the goal for my kids. We had our dog, however, it was a bit disappointing that the right of the house was not fenced in. We were not able to to take our dog off his leash. Overall though it was a great experience!

Cozy retreat
This was a great little property for our family of five! We were able to practice appropriate social distancing while enjoying fishing, swimming and a beautiful little patch of blue bonnets. Kitchen is decently stocked with cookware and utensils. Plenty of linens. It’s not fancy but it is clean and comfortable, perfect for family time together!
