'Casa do Gabriel' spacious Madeirian villa with private garden and ocean view

Casa do Gabriel is situated in a calm rural village area in the hamlet of Estreito da Calheta on the south-west coast of the beautiful sub-tropical island of Madeira.

The house is located within a 40 minute drive from the airport and is in a quiet, private and secluded location with spectacular panoramic south-westerly views over the Atlantic Ocean with the beautiful mountains behind.

The house has one level and includes two double bedrooms, two bathrooms (one has the bath tub and the second is equipped with shower stall), living room, dining area and kitchen. The kitchen is bright, roomy and well-equipped with all the necessary appliances for cooking. There is a separate laundry room with washer, freezer, sink, iron and ironing board.

For your comfort the property is equipped with all the usual features, such as bed linen and towels, free Wi-Fi, TV (135 channels in English, Portuguese, Spanish and French), washing machine, dishwasher, sun-loungers, etc.

There is an upstairs terrace with the floating bed (swing) and an amazing view of the ocean.

A patio around the house overlooks a private garden with walking paths. In the garden you will find avocado tree, orange tree, and guava along with numerous exotic flowers and shrubs. Fruits are available for our guests in season. A lower private patio in the garden is surrounded with flowering shrubs and bushes depending on the season with a view of the blue ocean.
The house overlooks a deep gorge with a variety of birds flying around, including buzzards and kites. Binocular available to do some bird-watching.

The only sandy beach on the island is in Calheta and it is 5 minute drive from the house as well as the supermarket Pingo Doce, ATM, marina with lots of restaurants. Dolphin and whale watching and deep sea fishing excursions are available from there. The levadas (irrigation channels), mountain walks of Rabaçal and Prazeres are all only a short drive away.

Property is wheelchair accessible.
The house is registered with and licensed by the local Calheta Municipality for local accommodation use (AL–Alojamento Local No. 20657/AL).

Normally sleeping four persons in two double bedrooms. The fifth person could sleep in the hide-a-bed in the living room if required.

Top location. The driveway is a bit... lets say, at first build the trust as an flatland german with an unknown rental car... That's Madeira. The Contact with Irina was fantastic! I could write a lot of points but in the End it's: It was a home! And a great startbase for exploring the iland

Tolles Haus mit super Aussicht

Wir waren im Mai 2 Wochen Gast im Casa do Gabriel und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Begrüßung von Irina war nett und herzlich.Das Haus ist gut ausgestattet und sehr sauber. Einzig der hier aufgeführte Wäschetrockner und die Tischtennisplatte sind nicht vorhanden. Von der Terasse hat man einen super schönen Blick aufs Meer. Als einzig negatives ist nur zu erwähnen dass einer der Nachbarn ein größeres Hunderudel hält das sehr ausdauernd gebellt hat. Trotzdem würden wir auf jeden Fall wiederkommen und können das Haus gerne weiter empfehlen. Vielen Dank Irina für eine tolle Zeit in deinem Haus.

Entspannter Urlaub in toller Unterkunft

Das Haus liegt perfekt mit herrlichem Ausblick, die Dachterrasse ist immer für einen Sundowner gut. Gute Ausstattung, angenehme Atmosphäre, nette Gastgeberin und alle Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in Calheta etc. gut erreichbar. Und die Avocados vom Baum im Garten sind soooo lecker!Hilfreich wäre ein Staubsauger und vielleicht ein Wischmopp. Für eine Reinigung mit Besen und Spültuch ist das Haus doch recht groß.Wir würden das Haus jederzeit wieder mieten!!!

Beautiful garden getaway

I stayed at Casa do Gabriel for 8 days and loved every moment I spent on the secluded terrace, sipping wine, taking in the unlimited ocean views, surrounded by hibiscus and frangipani flowers. The house was spotlessly clean and Irina was a very responsive host. It was a great location for hiking and water access, and a world away from the tourist frenzy in Funchal. Highly recommend!

Nous avons apprécié la propreté de la maison, son confort et tous les équipements mis à notre disposition. La vue mer et le calme étaient un bonheur à chaque instant de la journée. Une amélioration possible ? Une petite piscine pour se rafraîchir après les randonnées et ce serait parfait;-) Pour cette location, il nous paraît nécessaire d' être équipé d un véhicule.

Ruim, mooi huis met alles erop en eraan. Uitzicht op zee. Prima geschikt voor 2 stelletjes. Kleine winkel in de buurt en een grotere in Calheta. Heerlijk om na een schitterende wandeling weer "thuis" te komen. We hebben genoten.

Very nice house

We enjoyed our stay very much. The house has a quiet location with a broad wonderful sea view and wonderful garden, no disturbing traffic noises. It is well equipped and with bright rooms and enough space. We felt home and would recommend it warmly. Ontop we received a useful food welcome package from the owner. Any time we 'dcome back there.

Traumhaft schönes Haus auf Madeira

Wir haben den Aufenthalt in diesem wunderschönen Haus auf dieser sehenswerten Insel sehr genossen. Der Empfang war freundlich und herzlich. Das Haus ist etwas schwer zu finden, da auf der Insel, die Beschilderung eher mangelhaft ist. Wer nicht gern Auto fährt, sollte lieber nicht auf Madeira Urlaub machen, zumindest nicht, wenn man keine Busausfahrten bevorzugt. Nur mit dem Auto erreicht man die reizvollsten Ecken der Insel. Außerdem sollte man wissen, dass es fahrerisches Können erfordert, denn die Insel besteht überwiegend aus steilen und kurvenreichen Straßen. Ansonsten ist Madeira absolut eine Reise wert.
