Lovely stay! The Etna views from our room and the hotel in general were amazing. Really helpful staff and easy to get into Taormina. Short stroll up the hill and you’re in Castelmola which is also a beautiful little town. Would definitely recommend staying.

Absolutely beautiful hotel. The views were spectacular! The staff was so friendly and accommodating! The restaurant was amazing! Pool area could be updated and they should have a waiter or waitress that goes around. They should have something to get rid of the bees! We couldn’t have breakfast outside in the morning because of all the bees! Breakfast was great but more hot options would have been better.

I cannot fault the hotel. It’s situated in a beautiful spot above Taormina called CastelMola. The hotel is stunningly rustic with jaw dropping views of Mount Etna and the surrounding mountains. The hotel staff were so helpful, kind and fun. The hotel has a great breakfast and is two mins walk from CastelMola village which has great shops and a few lovely restaurants. I am so glad we stayed here rather in the heart of Taormina. It was just perfect.

Situated in the beautiful village of Castlemola, this comfortable hotel offers unrivalled views of Mount Etna. Well worth getting a room with a balcony and mountain view. Breakfast was good and varied and the staff extremely accommodating. A few of our evening meals were taken at the nearby Caverna restaurant which is also owned by the hotel (with discount available for guests). A great walk down to Taormina was well worth the effort but keep an eye on the bus times as Taxis can be expensive. All in all, an absolutely delightful stay.

Veldig fint hotell og hjelpsom betjening. De har shuffelbuss ned til Taormina som går flere ganger om dagen, så det var ikke noe problem, selv om hotellet ligger oppe i Castlemonia. Beautiful Castelmola

Great, friendly staff who know how to properly treat their guests. Beautiful views from the restaurant, pool area and our room of Mount Etna. The full breakfast buffet was incredible. In the evenings/night it was absolutely quiet outside. We took the Interbus to/from Taormina bus station, for 1.90 euros. It stops right in front of Villa Sonia Hotel ! Castelmola is an interesting community with many shops and restaurants. We took the walking trail down to Taormina

Här kommer din text översatt till engelska: --- **A big thank you for a lovely stay, and an extra thank you to the staff at the reception who were absolutely amazing!** We arrived late and without our luggage, but when we finally got to the hotel we were met with wonderful service. Food was arranged even though the kitchen had already closed, and we were given extra kettles so we could prepare food for our baby. After that, there were many phone calls to try and track down our luggage, and the staff helped us with all of it. Such dedication—beyond all expectations. We can warmly recommend Villa Sonia! Both the rooms, the breakfast, and the restaurant could be enjoyed with a fantastic view. (6-9/4 2025)

Die Lage und die Aussichten in alle Richtungen sind hervorragend. Im angrenzenden Restaurant arbeitet auch sehr hilfreiches Hotelpersonal, vertraut mit lokalen Weinen, das Essen ist ausgezeichnet. The hotel is about 20 minutes up a very steep and winding road above Taorimina so it's not convenient to go back and forth. The decor is dated, but the hotel has an old world charm and the setting is beautiful. The back of the hotel looks at Mount Etna and the wonderful pool faces it too. The breakfast was nice and had typical Sicilian pastries. They could update the decorations in the rooms and lobby.
