It's not what you think.

The Knights Inn, was false advertising, as the hotel had a sign in the Lobby that it was under the Motel 8 brand. It was run like one. Cheap cheap cheap. The minimal service was adequate at best, but the exterior facade was dirty and dated looking, the interior finishes were at least 10 years old and dirty, scratched, stained, etc. Not terrible but not good. The bathroom had the shower curtain and rod sagging as it was pulling out of both walls and was not safe. The toilet paper holder was coming out of the wall. There were other signs of deferred or poor maintenance, including an Out-of-service elevator and mold in the ice machine. For the money paid on a UofI Dad's day weekend the deal was only okay because no bugs were fond in the room. Had no confidence on this but it worked out okay. As a last chance hotel it could be worse, but this is not a "nice" hotel even for basic most needs. It's value to me would be around $40-50/night.
