Reykjavik Flights

Iceland is a stunning display of opposites -- volcanic fire and glacial ice, hauntingly empty landscapes and bustling city streets. In this most northern country in Europe, the city of Reykjavik draws travelers intent on enjoying its unique attractions, unusual foods, and warm, friendly people.

International flights to Reykjavik land at Keflavík International Airport, about an hour's drive from the city. The city's second airport, Reykjavík Airport, is purely for domestic plane travel. Most visitors prefer to stay closer to the city, where all of the action is.

Founded by Vikings a thousand years ago, the city is an interesting mix of old and new. The architecture of the city center is an eclectic mix well worth enjoying by foot on a tour of the area. There are also plentiful parks, gardens, and museums to celebrate all that is uniquely Icelandic. Bars and pubs draw the locals and are a good place to meet and make new friends.

The country's geothermal activity provides the popular sport of bathing in its mineral-rich waters. These are dotted around the countryside, many of them, such as Laugardalslaug, are right in the city. Reykjavik is also fortuitously positioned to enjoy whale watching and there are many boat tours offering a glimpse of a range of fascinating wildlife, including Iceland's famous puffins.

Had to wait 20 minutes for a gate, 10 minutes for a ramp to exit plane.

Happy overall with my first WOW flight. However.... I am a tall person and the only thing to complain about was the leg room ...

Apr 19, 2018

Adding a free meal for flights over 5 hours is a good idea.

For a “budget” airline, I was surprised to see USB ports to charge electronics. Was a little over my checked bag weight allowance and had to pay 32€ plus had paid for an additional carry-on. Pack properly and save money

I've flown Iceland air twice now, and I've had a great experience both times. I like the way you do business - keep up the great work and excellent service!

Cabin lights stayed on for the red eye flight. Hard to sleep. Nice usb to charge electronics. Didn't work for flight back.

Lounge being in international area of airport with gate in Shengen means having to go through passport control twice to go to and from the gate. Not ideal. Also, lack of flat bed seats in Business ot competitive, particularly on overnight long haul flights.

Iceland Air is interesting - no seat power and no free food even on international flights, but great seats with decent movies loaded. Curious that you have to take a bus to planes that are parked out on the tarmac and climb stairs!

Apr 12, 2018

Seats were very narrow and not good leg room but they reclined nicely. Flight attendants were helpful and kind. Good in flight entertainment selection.

Just a good flight
