Medina - Chefchaouen, Morocco
It is known for the blue washed walls and doorways in the old city. Narrow alleys, cobbled walkways, stairs up and down, leading in all directions.

Chefchaouen's powder blue buildings mirror the cloudless Moroccan sky - but religious rather than stylistic reasons are behind the design choice. Jewish teachings suggest that by dyeing thread with tekhelel (an ancient natural dye) and weaving it into prayer shawls, people would be reminded of God's power. The tradition lives on in the regularly repainted blue buildings.

The walls are adorned with carpets, purses, blankets, paintings and much more. It was quite an adventure to get lost in the tiny lanes and alleys and discover the many berber shops and products.

“This is my first time to visit Chefchaouen, Morocco. I stayed 4 nights in Diyar Marhaba. Lucky it is close to the carpark which the taxi can stops. Just 3 mins walk and easy to find the location. Not worry the cold weather, they have heater in the room. Fresh orange juice and coffee for breakfast. Beautiful blue city view at the roof top with breakfast. Staffs are very helpful. Especially thanks Yusfu, he is not just give me information about Blue city. He shared a lot of informations……
