Well, the room would've been nice... if we could've actually been given what we booked. We are a family of 6, so online we booked a two full couch room. We showed up at 9:30, anxious to get our crew to bed after a long days drive.
We got checked in, got the family and all our luggage hauled out of our car, up to the room.... only to find a single full and couch room. We had already paid almost $200 for this room - more than I would've typically paid but I wanted a clean and safe place in Chicago area. The room that they gave us was also offered online, and about $40 cheaper. We paid more for the double bed room. I could NOT believe that they not only gave us the single bed room, but 1. didn't mention that they didn't have what we booked when we checked in. 2. didn't offer any sort of refund for the difference of the two rooms.
I was not about to pay $200 for our family to sleep on the floor, so I went back down and asked. I was simply told, "Sorry, we have no more of the rooms you booked." and was given no other apology for giving us a smaller room or for misleading us in check in. They were totally content to just hope we didn't complain at that time of night, and to pocket the higher price we paid for the room we didn't get.
What an unfortunate experience to be without a place to stay with our children at 10 pm. We had to drive around town seeking a new place. (And we did - Holiday Inn was cheaper, bigger, friendly and accommodating.) Go elsewhere!!
