“Stayed here for 3 nights recently. It's a family owned business, with a good selection of local real ales. Everyone very friendly, cooked breakfast started each day on the right footing. Dog friendy - and he appreciated his own sausage each morning. Great location for walking - Kinder Scout and Derwent Water a short drive or Buxton, Bakewell or Matlock - perfect break ”

“A lovely gem of a pub with a fantastic restaurant and friendly staff/hosts. A very enjoyable stay and will definitely return. Stayed in the largest of the three bedrooms. Very characterful and with a freestanding bath in the bedroom, decent double shower in bathroom and 2 comfortable swivel chairs in bedroom. It was very comfortable. Showing a little sign of wear and tear but not major. Only downside in bathroom was no overflow for sink, so no plug but it wasn’t a major issue. Had been twice……

The property has so much fascinating history and the current owners have gone thru great lengths to keep it all in the best conditions. We loved the breakfast with a great choice. No one is leaving here hungry! ”
