Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, is situated 35 miles (56 kilometers) to the north of Cisarua, while Bandung is 50 miles (80 kilometers) to the east.
Try not to limit yourself to Cisarua, because West Java has been blessed with numerous scenic and cultural attractions which await the savvy traveler. While in the region, visit the Bogor Agriculture University (Institut Pertanian Bogor) and Sentul International Circuit in and around Bogor, roughly 12 miles (19 kilometers) to the southeast of Cisarua.
About 35 miles (56 kilometers) to the north of Cisarua is Jakarta, a regional city where you can visit Bundaran Hi, Puppet Museum (Museum Wayang) and Setiabudi One. Make sure you don't return to Cisarua until you've investigated Jakarta's Thamrin City Shopping Mall, Merdeka Palace and Pasar Baru.
If you want to stay indoors, it's hard to go past West Java's art museums, craft workshops and art galleries. These are good places to soak up some of the region's rich cultural tapestry and find a unique gift or two. Visitors in West Java often go to the area's open-air markets and gardens.
