"The hotel is clean. The reception staff are accommodating however i do feel ripped off. I stay in hotels for a decent nights sleep, and that was not achievable. The mattress was uncomfortable, there was a 2 inch gap under the door and the corridor lights didnt turn off all night. I payed an extra £14 for a breakfast that was not worth £5\. The sausage had been cooked on such a high temperature the outside was cooked and the inside cold, the bacon had only just been introduced to a grill, the poached eggs flooded the plate with uncooked egg white, the coffee from a flask was warm at best. The breakfast staff had no idea who ordered what, so ended up walking round the room quizzing gets what they ordered, when a table number could have solved this, or a wooden spoon in the vase on the table with an order number. The hotel looks to also be used for staff family for breakfast. So all in all not a good stay and a complete waste of money. "

"This was perfect for a uni visit stay. Excellent location close to the station and town centre. The building is a fantastic Victorian villa with lots of quirky original features and decorated really nicely. The staff are really welcoming. Breakfast was really good and included in our rooom rare which is a bargain! We stayed in 2 rooms and the beds were really comfy. Room has everything you need though bring your own hairdryer if you have thick/long hair. Shower is fine - not overly strong but these rooms are sympathetically styled into an old Victorian building - don't expect a walk in shower with rain attachment! Would absolutely recommend and will definitely stay again. "

"Very good evening meal, food was excellent with a reasonable choice of dishes, we had a sea view which was lovely with a little balcony. Hotel is quite tired, but comfortable and the staff are amazing and a superb location with plenty of parking which you have to pay extra for."
